SOME CONSIDERATION TO THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE BEIBU GULF ECONMIC CIRCLE

With the improvement of relations between China and Vietnam, and the openning of Nanning-Kunming Railway, the Southwest China can be directly linked to the Beibu Gulf, and a subregional economic cooperative circle centered by Beibu Gulf will be formed soon. The circle takes the Southwest and Indochina Peninsula as the hinterland and "dateS the whole globe. The Beibu Gulf Economic Circle has a favourable location, vast territory, large polulation, abundant resources, winding castal line, and good sea ports. It also has a great latent market. With the construction of traffic net around the Beibu Gulf and the formation of the international development triangle of Qinzhou, Yangpu and Haiphong, the industrial groups like ed, electric power, iron and steel, oil, nonferrous metal, shipbuilding and chemical industries, will be built. Standing facing the Bohai Culf in North China, the Beibu Cuff will be developed as a new economic circle in South China, initiating a new stage for the economic development of China and Vietnam.
