Abstract: | Einstein A-coefficients for the electric-dipole transitions between the rotational levels up to 400 cm–1 in the ground vibrational state of methylene (CH2) are calculated. The coefficients are used to compute the mean-radiative-life-times of the levels. It is concluded that in hot molecular clouds, CH2 may be detected through the stimulated emission of the radiation at 69.36 GHz. |
