Abstract: | A side-scan sonar survey with complete ground coverage has revealed the presence of numerous, straight, narrow ridges of NNW and NE trends in the North Channel, Irish Sea. They are interpreted as igneous dykes, probably of Tertiary age. The topographic expression of the dykes and their appearance on the sonographs provide indications of considerable erosion by tidal-current scour. |
