Research on the Generation and Development of Digital Cartography

Compared with traditional manual mapping,digital mapping in the information age has shown its relative advantages at the very start. Exploring the transition mechanism of traditional manual mapping to digital mapping is helpful to grasp the development trend of digital cartography in the information age. Therefore,the research on the development direction of digital cartography should start with the analysis of its necessity,theoretical guidance and technical support.How digital cartography will integrate many new technologies in the information age is also a rich research area.This paper takes the main line from traditional mapping to digital mapping to intelligent mapping,and analyzes the necessity,theoretical guidance,technical support and new trend of the development of digital mapping,so as to explore the development tendency of digital cartography.
