城市群的存在是区域城市化与城市区域化的重要表现，它作为区域城市化高级阶级的现象，是集聚与扩散共同作用的产物。经济全球化与区域经济一体化必然要求重视和加强城市群经济的发展。我国城市群的发展壮大能极大地提升我国的国家竞争力，对我国经济持续稳定发展意义重大。本文在经济全球化，特别我国成功人世将进一步与世界经济体系接轨的发展背景下，展开探讨我国城市群经济整合机制及模式，寻求城市群的持续高效发展。

Integration:Strategic Choice of Economically Sustaineble Development of the Urban Agglomerations in China

Urban agglomerations are characterized by regional urbanization and urban regions. It is the most advanced phenomenon in the process of regional urbanization, and is created by interaction of the conglomeration and diffusion process. Nowadays, urban agglomerations have been the new fundamentally regional units in joining global competition and international division of labor. Consequently in general, they will influenced the international competitiveness of the country and thereby are most significant to stable development of the national economy. All of these mean that new creative international competitiveness will originate from them.In particular, economic globalization and intercation of the regional economies will and should concentrate on the power of the urban agglomerations. Economic globalization means labor division, communication, cooperation and competition of the global economy will actually proliferated more. Based on this background, international competition will gradually develop into competition of the urban agglomerations focused on the conglomerations and integration capabilities of economic resources.Under the backdrop of economic globalization, this paper discusses economic integration of the urban agglomerations in China firstly and then the connotation and features of economic integration. meanwhite it studies also the mechanism of economic integration and its models.
