DISSIPATIVE STRUCTURE MODEL OF THE EVOLUTION OF PALAEOCOMMUNITIES

Based on the characteristics of community evolution and by introducting the dissipative structure and bifurcation theories, the author demonstrates that the process of community evolution accords with the process of dissipative structure and that the community succession is a phenomenon of multistage bifurcation which will develop into chaos area under the certain border condition and that the community replacement is the result of the downward bifurcation of the ecosystem because of the loss of stability of dissipative structure. The author suggests a new mathematical model based on Shen Xiaofeng's(l987). Finally, a study of Saierlang mountain of West Qinling by using this model is made.
