| 摘 要： | 本文概述了国际大地测量学与地球物理学联合会(IUGG)的历史发展,介绍了IUGG的近况。IUGG作为一个致力于研究地球及把研究所获得的知识应用于造福人类社会的科学组织,近年来在推动地球科学各相关学科的交叉融合、加强国际合作、关心与帮助发展中国家或地区地球科学的发展以及探讨地球科学未来的发展趋向等方面,开展了许多活动,这些活动对于认识人类赖于生存的、不断变化的行星地球、促进人与自然的和谐相处以及人类社会的发展具有重要的意义。

| Abstract: | The historical developments and current activities of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) have been summarized in this paper. Current IUGG activities include strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation in Earth science; promoting the development of geosciences in Africa; in commemoration of International Year of Planetary Earth and 50 anniversary of International Geophysical Year; exploring the future of geosciences; and the preparation of 24th General Assembly of IUGG to be held in 2007 in Perugia, Italy. These activities are essential for understanding our changing planet Earth, promoting harmony between the humankind and the mature, as well as sustainable development. |
