| Abstract: | The mechanical theory of elastic beam on elastic visco-plastic foundation was proposed in this paper. The FEM formulae and its implementation were presented. The influence of elastic visco-plastic foundation on the retaining system in foundation pit project was also illustrated by an example of practical engineering. |
