摘    要:本文分析了四种影响等离子体层顶突起位置的因素:(1)对流电场Ex分量的存在;(2)白天和夜间的Ey分量的不对称性;(3)偏心极光椭圆带;(4)Ey分量的突然变化。文章着重讨论了在平静时和在磁活动性增强时正Ex分量存在的可能性。文章肯定了Volland电场模型,但指出它存在某些缺点,建议做进一步改进。

Abstract:Four factors which affect the position of bulge of the plasmasphere are analysed. They are: (1) the existence of X-component (in the GSM system) of the large-scale magnetoshe-ric convection electric field, (2) the asymmetry of Ey-component of this field on dayside and on nightside with respect to the dawn-dusk meridian, (3) the offset auroral oval belt, and (4) the sudden change in Ey-component. The discussion places stress on the possibility of existence of the Ex-component in quiet and disturbed conditions. The Volland's model of global electric field is appreciated and further improvements of it are proposed to overcome some of its drawbacks.
