Abstract: | This study of impedance responses of ichibitor desorption during an anodic process of iron in acidic medium showed that the unstable inhibitor layer causes an inductive loop on impedance plots as the potential approaches the dererption potential. With increasing applied potential, the double layer capacitances increased rapidly to a larger value with a sharp turning point at the desorption potential Edes, and the transfer resistances gradually decreased to relatively low values in the vicinity of Edes. The dispersion effect , at the are time, continuously increased independently of the dererption potentials. The above results are discussed for the case of an adsorbed inhibitor layer desorbing from an anodically polarized metal surface . |
