摘    要:
1 INTRODUCTIONThe Sun is close enough to observe in some detail, and it shows that a star is more thanthe traditional stable self-gravitating thermonuclear body established half a celltury ago. Forthe fact is that out of sight beneath the visible surface the outward flow of heat from thethermonuclear core drives hydrodynamics that generates magnetic fields. It is the complicateddynamics of those magnetic fields that produces the modern mysteries of the active Sun. The…

Abstract:
This review of solar physics emphasizes several of the more comspicuous scientific puzzles posed by contemporary observational knowledge of the magnetic activity of the Sun.The physics of solar activity is based on the principles of Newton,Maxwell,Lorentz,Boltzmam,et.al.,along with the principles of radiative transfer. In the large, these principles are expressed by magnetohydrodynamics.A brief derivation of the magnetohydrodynamic induction and momentum equations is provided, with a discussion of popular misconceptions.
Keywords:Sun: activety - Magnetohydro dynamics - radiative transfer
