| Abstract: | Chromium is widely used in the industry and the pollution of chromium along the coastal sea often occurs because it can enter the setuarine environment from the discharge of industrial effluents,runoff and sewage disposal,nature enrichment by river transport as well as offshore gas and oil drilling,Chromium occurs in the sea water most commonly as the trivalent (Cr3+)and hexavalent (Cr6+)forms.The former is generally less toxic than the later,presumably because of its poor membrane permeability and lower solubility in water. |
