Abstract: | Several long-term numerical experiments were conducted on simulating turbulent flow in a channel confined by two rough plates. Computations were based on a model that describes the dynamics of a three-dimensional incompressible fluid at very large Reynolds numbers. This model uses a localized dynamic mixed closure and a fourth-order-accurate conservative scheme. The results of the experiments are compared to the data of observations and direct numerical simulation. It is shown that an a posteriori reconstruction of the modeled velocity field leads to a close approximation of the statistical characteristics of the model solution to the statistical characteristics of the observed variability. |
