周口店地区第四纪哺乳动物群的演化与环境变迁探讨

EVOLUTION OF QUATERNARY MAMMALIAN ASSEMBLAGES AND ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGE IN ZHOUKOUDIAN AREA, BEIJING

his paper deals with three parts of the Quaternary mammalian fossil of the study area (Choukoutien). Firstly, stratigraphic ranges of some fossil mammals are discussed. These mammammals are Alilepus annectens, Hypolagus brachypus, Lepus sp., Sciurotamias praecox, Allocricetus teilhardi, Cricetinus varians, Hyperacrius yenshanensisc, Allophaiomys of. pliocaenicus, Proedromys of. bedfordi, Chardinomys nihewanicus, Mus cf. musculus and Apodemus dominans.Secondly,based on the correlation and analysis of the Zhoukoudian faunas, it is suggested that the Loc. 18 is early Early Pleistocene in age ; the Loc. 12 and East cave (Dongdong) are middle Early Pleistocene; the Loc. 9 and West cave (Xidong) are late Early Pleistocene; the Loc. 13is from late Early Pleistocene to early Middle Pleistocene; the Locs. 1, 2, 5, 6, 11, 10, 21,23 and Shangdian cave are Middle Pleistocene;the Donglingzi cave is Late Pleistocene; the New cave (Xingdong) is late Middle Pleistocene to early Late Pleistocene; and the UPPer cave is late Late Pleistocene. Thirdly, the ecological characteristics of some mammalian faunas, climatic fluctuation and environmental change for Quaternary in the Zhoukoudian area are described.
