| Abstract: | Seepage of pollutants from surface and subsurface sources of pollution are known to occur. Here the effect of the type, number and the proximity of the visible surface sources of pollution on the extent and degree of pollution in the neighbouring water sources is investigated. In Madurai the pollution loadings are more or less continuous and hence there is no possibility of reducing pollution levels. |
