The Garden Wetland has not been described.It is a new type of constructed wetland.Its preliminary definition was given out that in a certain space separated from outside,to construct wetland with water landscape and suitable for buildings,which is a nature and culture complex system that is in a good taste and has the functions of recreation,rest and a place fit for habitation.The Garden Wetland has special construction including 5 elements: a certain place;water landscape controlled;buildings fit for the water landscape;various groups of plants and animals;articles of virtu such as poems,paintings and sculptures for enjoyness and research.Garden wetlands have different types and structure.According their construction style,garden wetlands could be classified for Chinese east garden wetland and occident' s west garden wetland,or classic garden wetland and modern garden wetland.The Suzhou garden wetlands in China are the representatives of Chinese classical garden with great value of world cultural heritage.Garden wetlands are very important foundation of ecological city and could push cities' sustainable development.
