推广香根草篱作水土保持措施值得重视的几个问题

1988年以来,我国推广香根草蓠作水土保持措施,收到的水土保持效益甚佳,香根草篱的短处有:经济效益欠佳,与作物争水肥,容易发生病虫害。为使香根草蓠扬长避短,提出的意见有:1.宜在秦岭-伏牛山以南海拔<2000米的地区推广;2.人少地多的山区荒坡地上可大力推广;3.建立香根草与经济作物组成的混合蓠;4.加强香根草病虫害防治研究。

SEVERAL IMPORTANT PROBLEMS IN POPULARIZING VETIVERIA ZIZANIOIDES HEDGE AS A MEASURE OF WATER AND SOIL CONSERVATION

Since 1988 ,Vetiveria zizanioides hedge has been widely planted in South China as a measure of water and soil conservation.Vetiveria zizanioides hedge can increase water content and infiltration rate in soil, decrease surafce runoff and soil erosion,raise yield of crop and make a good effect on water and soil conservation. Vetiveria zizanioides hedge in some places of China will increase water content of soil and intercepted sediment for 25-70%.Some disadvantages of Vetiveria zizanioides hedge are found-1. striving for water and fertilizer with agricultural and economic crops; 2. easily infected by plant diseases and insect pests andtransferring them to other crops or fruit trees ; 3. lowering economic income of its cultivator.To make Vetiveria zizanioides hedge better plan ted, some suggestions are as follows. 1. The places to popularized Vetiveria zizanioides hedge should be limited to the area at altitude less than 2,000m to the south of Qingling-Funiu Mountains;2. It should be widely planted on the weste-. lands of less populated areas;3. Plant Vetuvria zizanioides and other kinds of crops in a hedge; 4. Strengthen the research on prevention and control of the plant diseases and elimination of pests.
