地球磁层中哨声导管的物理结构

摘    要:本文在理论上探讨了地球磁层中哨声导管的物理特征。利用两种能够引导甚低频电磁波的导管模式,求得哨声导管中磁场和电流的分布。当磁场偏离势场或无力场时,将会产生场向电流,该电流与导管的强度和稳定维持密切相关。根据这些结果,我们认为高纬磁层中观测到的较强的场向电流,是高纬地区地面台站频繁接收到哨声及其回波的一个重要原因。

Abstract:The physical characteristics of whistler ducts in Earth's magnetosphere is inquired theoretically. By using two kinds of model of ducts in which the VLF electromagnetic waves are guided, we obtain the distributions of magnetic field and current in the whistler duets. When the magnetic field deviates from potential or force-free field, the field-aligned current can be produced, and it relates closely with the intensity and lifetime of ducts. On the basis of these results, we may conclude that a stronger field-aligned current obsvered in high-latitute magnetosphere is an important cause of the whistlers and their echoes being received frequently at ground stations of high-latitute regions.
