| Abstract: | The perturbation method is used to derive this mathematical model for coastal upwelling induced by alongshore current at the shelf break on a slowly sloping continental shelf. The geostrophic flow velocity with bottom friction as the velocity at the shell" break is presumably the best choice for the homogeneous model.The present analysis will be beneficial to understanding and further study of the upwelling induced by an alongshore current. |
