PALEOWEATHERING CRUST:AN IMPORTANT RESERVOIR (BODY) TYPE OF CARBONATE ROCKS

It is proved that the paleoweathering crust is an important reservoir (body) type of carbonate rock by means of exploration and development of many oil-and gas-bearing regions.There is enormous material to prove that the paleoweathering crust is a special geological body,and has special texture of zonation and oil-and gas-bearing characteristics,Therefore, the term, karst,can't represent the particularity as well as the whole concept of paleoweatheing crust, that should be called paleoweathering crust reservoir(body).The detailed studies of stratigraphy, mineral and rock composition, diagenesis,paleokarst, vertical texture, reservoir property, character of logging curves, seismic reflection, and oil-and gas-bearing characteristics of Lower Paleozoic paleoweathering crust reservoir(body) in Tarim basin,Renqiu oil field and Ordos region are made in this paper.
