Abstract: | Fred Hoyle famously drew attention to the significance of apparent coincidences in the energy levels of the carbon and oxygen nucleus. This paper addresses the possible implications of other coincidences in cosmology. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date. |
