Modeling transient and long-term postseis-mic deformation: A case study of 1995 M_w9.5 Chile earthquake

Abstract:In this paper, we firstly use finite element method (FEM) with Burgers model to simulate the postseismic viscoe-lastic relaxation taking 1960 Chile earthquake as an example. The postseismic deformation modeled with Burgers model includes co-seismic deformation, transient postseismic deformation and long-term postseismic deformation.
