Conceptual Model of Ground Water Flow in Fractured Siltstone Based on Analysis of Rock Cores, Borehole Geophysics, and Thin Sections

Affiliation:Ira S. Merin is a senior staff geologist with Radian Corp. (2455 Horsepen Rd., Herndon, VA 22071) and is a Registered Professional Geologist. Merin earned a B.S. (honors) and M.S. in geology from George Washington University, where his academic studies emphasized applied geochemistry. He has extensive experience in applying geophysical and geochemical techniques to solving ground water pollution problems. Previous employment included investigations of ground water pollution by petroleum for the American Petroleum Institute, applying geophysical methods to aid in radioactive waste isolation for the U.S.Geological Survey, and performing geophysical and geochemical investigations for Earth Satellite Corp.
