A study on the penetration resistance of bucket fou ndation

A study on bucket foundations was begun in the fifties of the twentieth century. Since the first commercial use in which they were utilized to moor a process and accommodation barge, bucket foundations have been used for big ocean structures, TLPs' mooring, and Jackets' foundations. One virtue of bucket foundations is their special penetration, and the penetration resistance differs from that of normal piles. This paper systematically summarizes the research of the representative overseas projects, tries to compare various methods and gives a weighted computing means, which could be a useful reference for the future study and projects.
