Climate Change and Wetland

Summary of importance of wetland is briefly introduced in this paper. The impacts of the different types of wetlands are addressed owing to climate change. The roles of wetlands served as pool, sink and source are discussed in mitigating the climate change and some strategies are proposed to alleviate the impacts of the climate change from wetland conservation and wise use perspective. These measures include wetland inventory, data and information collection on all kinds of wetlands globally, establishment of climate change models, which will be integrated into conservation and management. Therefore, they are the important measures to protect, maintain or restore the wetland ecosystem in mitigating of the global climate change.
