Abstract:Systematic studies have been made on the 1.4nm clay mineral from the laterite de veloped on the carbonate rock in Guizhou by using X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopic analysis,differential thermal analysis.These studies show that 1. 4nm clay mineral and kaolinite are the main clay minerals in the laterite.The soil properties are mainly affeced by 1.4nm clay mineral.The 1.4nm interstratified mineral is chlorite/vermiculite interstratified mineral and quickly affected by the pedogenic process and acid rain.The 1.4nm interstrati fied mineral is the typomorphic mineral of the pedogenic environment and geochemical process and has enviromental significance.
