| Abstract: | In this paper a general survey is given on the main scientific achievements of the International Hydrological Decade and the International Hydrological Programme in the past 25 years. Attention is also paid to the characteristics of every step of the IHD/IHP development. In conclusion a few remarks upon the scientific progress of IHD and IHP are made. |
