| Abstract: | This paper deals with some filamentous mierofossils of oscillatoriaeean cyanophyte affinity discovered recently in petrographic thin sections of the c. 700 Ma old Doushan-tuo Formation (Late Sinian) in the Eastern Yangtze Gorge, Hubei Province, China. They are assigned to the taxa Siphonophyciis sinensis sp. nov., Siphonophycus inornatum Y. Zhang, Oscillatoriopsis maxima (Y. Zhang) comb. nov. (referred to as Palaeolyngbya sp. in Zhang Zhongying (1982)), Oscillatoriopsis sp., Salome hubeiensis sp. nov., and Salome svalbardcnsis Knoll. These newly discovered filaments supplement our understanding of the Doushantuo microflora. |
