| Abstract: | The IUGS Executive Committee (EC) met (55th meeting) March 19-22, 2005, in Vilnius, Lithuania, a city with a storied history that dates from the year 1323. The meeting was jointly hosted by the Geological Survey of Lithuania, Vilnius University, and the lUGS Commission on Geoscience for Environmental Management. Prior to the formal meeting, EC members and meeting observers were conducted on a superb field excursion to view aspects of the Quaternary geology and environmental history of the Lithuanian maritime region. |
