Calculation of earthquake response spectrum based on Hi-net velocity records

Both the strong motion seismometer and the seismometer can record ground motion.The acceleration record output by the strong motion seismometer is mainly used to analyze the seismic response of the structure,and the velocity record output by the seismometer is often used to determine earthquake information.Since these two types of records describe ground motion and cover the frequency band required for structural seismic response analysis,whether velocity records can be used to calculate structural seismic response has attracted people's attention.In order to analyze the accuracy of the open source Hi-net velocity record used to calculate the seismic response of the structure,the authors select the acceleration and velocity recorded at the same station to calculate the seismic response spectrum,and analyzes the difference in the calculation results.The results show that:compared with KiK-net acceleration records,the low-frequency components in the Hi-net velocity records are weakened or even filtered out under the influence of the seismometer transfer function.The response spectrum calculated by this velocity record is smaller than that calculated by the acceleration record in the long period.If there is no correction made,the seismic response of the long period structure calculated using Hi-net velocity record would be small.Therefore,it should be corrected via extending before using this kind of velocity record.
