Abstract: | A first synthesis on the Cambrian mineral deposits of Spain (uneconomic and economic deposits) is presented taking the most significant geological characteristics into account towards an understanding of the metallogenic processes. The examination of features and genetic interpretations proposed by different authors lead to a synthetic table including: the stratigraphic, geographic and lithologic location of the minerals, the processes (plutonic, volcanic, metamorphic, tectonic, paleogeographic) which have controlled the formation of the deposits, the types of mineral deposits, and their paragenesis. At the end of the study, tentative comparisons are made between a few Cambrian ore deposits of Spain, France and Sardinia. This comparisons will serve as a starting point for a joint project. |
