Abstract:In this paper an approximate formula of the magnetic field strength in microwave burst sources is presented based on some simplified expressions for the gyrosynchrotron radiation. On the approximate formula the magnetic field estimation only depends on the observations of microwave burst spectrum at the optically thin part.additional assumptions or data are unnecessary. For a set of appropriate parameters of microwave burst spectrum the magnetic field strength was estimated and its error was given.
