腕足类Trifiaorostellum的发现及其地层意义

Discovery of brachiopde Trifidorostellum and its stratigraphic significance

Abundant specimens of Trifidorostellum were collected from the Shaodong Formation exposed near the village Zhouwangpu and the Qishi Reservoir in the Longhui County of Hunan. Trifido-rostelltim was widely distributed in the upper Famennian of U. S. A., Canada and the U. S. S. R. These materials indicate that the Shaodong Formation of central Hunan should belong to the Famennian. The Trifidorostellum dunbarensc Zone, which is higher than the Yunnanella-Yunnanellina Zone, was established in this paper. It may be correlated with the Gastrodetoechia Zone in Northwest Territories and the Rocky Mountain and Western Plain area of North America.
