AN INQUIRY FOR EXPLAINING AND APPLYING THE TERM "LITHOSTRTIC UNIT

Based on the implication of the term" strata" this paper raises an objestion on the ubiquity of diachronism concerning the Lithostratic units, and puts forword the term" lithostratic superposed body", which is formed of lithostratic units without the implication of the term" stratum".The paper discusses the lateral accretion, which can form not only the " lithostratic superposed body" laterally superposed, but also can form the vertical superposed" lithostratic superposed body". Either of these two" superposed bodies" would be in accord with the prinsiple of ubiquity of diachronism. The paper also points out that the" time transgression" differs with the " diachroniam, " and puts forward the use of programme for the terms of " superposed body" and lithostratic units.
