SEDIMENTARY FACIES ANALYSIS OF CAMBRIAN IN THE SOUTH OF MICANG MOUNTAIN

There are only Lower Cambrian and partial Middle Cambrian in the South of Micang Mountain. Sedimentary facies of Cambrian are mainly tidal flat, also Shallow sea facies,delta and reef facies. On the basis of facies analysis, the authors have established the facies model of shore basin of Cambrian in this area. It is the synthetic model about terrigenous clastic with carbonate sediment, and is of great importance for studing sedimentary facies of Northern border at Yangzi platform.Facies sequence of Cambrian show transgression-regression cycle. This cycle may be subdivided to three secondary cycles. These cycles accord with periodicity of climate variation and are indicative of tectonic movement cyclicity.In Cambrian, Hannan Old Land is in the north of this area,Motianling Old Land mainly supplied terrigenous deposits. In the course of time, shoreline of Cambrian gradually migrate Southward and this area wholly translated sea into land after Douposi stage, middle Cambrian.
