Mixing is a dominant hydrogeological process in the hydrothermal spring system in the Cappadocia region of Turkey. All springs emerge along faults, which have the potential to transmit waters rapidly from great depths. However, mixing with shallow meteoric waters within the flow system results in uncertainty in the interpretation of geochemical results. The chemical compositions of cold and warm springs and geothermal waters are varied, but overall there is a trend from Ca–HCO3 dominated to Na–Cl dominated. There is little difference in the seasonal ionic compositions of the hot springs, suggesting the waters are sourced from a well-mixed reservoir. Based on δ18O and δ2H concentrations, all waters are of meteoric origin with evidence of temperature equilibration with carbonate rocks and evaporation. Seasonal isotopic variability indicates that only a small proportion of late spring and summer precipitation forms recharge and that fresh meteoric waters move rapidly into the flow system and mix with thermal waters at depth. 3H and percent modern carbon (pmC) values reflect progressively longer groundwater pathways from cold to geothermal waters; however, mixing processes and the very high dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) of the water samples preclude the use of either isotope to gain any insight on actual groundwater ages.  相似文献

Rapid land use/land cover changes have taken place in many cities of Turkey. Land use and land cover changes are essential for wide range of applications. In this study, Landsat TM satellite imageries date from 1987, 1993, 2000 and 2010 were used to analyse temporal and spatial changes in the Western Black Sea Region of Turkey. Zonguldak and Eregli two largest and economic important cities which have been active coal mining and iron fabric areas. Maximum Likelihood Classification technique was implemented and the results were represented in classes of open area, forest, agricultural, water, mining, urban and pollution in the sea. Urban areas on both cities increased from 1987 to 2010. The agricultural and open areas from 1987 to 2010 decreased in parallel to land use and land cover change in both cities. Meanwhile, forest areas increased continuously with about 20 % from 1987 to 2010 in both cities. As industrial activity, the coal fields doubled from 1987 to 2010.  相似文献

Optical remote sensing satellites obtain MS and Pan images simultaneously over the same coverage area. Remote sensing and image processing communities are working on different pan-sharpening methods capable of taking advantage of MS and Pan images. Each remote sensing system has its own advantages and disadvantages, leading to the question ‘Which pan-sharpening method should be used for which type of imagery?’ The aim of this research is to investigate the pan-sharpening performance of PLÉIADES-1A images. For this purpose, pan-sharpened images were generated using PCA, IHS and Brovey Transform which are the most popular pan-sharpening methods. Then, the pan-sharpened images were evaluated quantitatively using Correlation Coefficient, Root Mean Square Error, Relative Average Spectral Error, Spectral Angle Mapper and Erreur Relative Globale Adimensionnelle de Synthése. In addition, pan-sharpened images were evaluated qualitatively by taking object availability and completeness into consideration.  相似文献
