We present the results of the preliminary study of the comet Hale-Bopp spectrum obtained April 17, 1997 by K. Churyumov and F. Mussayev with the help of the 1-meter Zeiss reflector and the echelle spectrometer (spectral resolutionλ/Δ λ ≈ 50000), CCD and the long slit, oriented along the radius-vector(“Sun-comet direction”). Energy distributions for three selected regions including the C3, C2 (0-0) and CN(Δ ν = 0) molecules emissions of the comet Hale-Bopp spectrum were built. The rotational lines of the CN(Δ ν = 0) band were identified. The nature of the high emission peak near λ 4020 Å in the C3 band is discussed. The presence of the cometary continuum of the nonsolar origin is assumed.  相似文献

We obtained spectra of comet C/1999 S4 (LINEAR) with the UAGS spectrograph(long slit and CCD) installed on the 1-m Zeiss reflector of the SAO of the RAS(Northern Caucuses, Nizhny Arkhyz) on July 23/24, 26/27 and 27/28, 2000. OnJuly 22/23, before the splitting of the cometary nucleus, several emission lines,such as C2, C3, CN, NH, CH, NH2, CO+, H2O+ wereclearly identified in the spectra. The inspections of the CCD spectra obtainedon July 27/28, 2000 reveals only very weak emission lines superimposed on thesolar reflection spectrum. From analyzing the surface brightness profile of C2 along the slit the velocity of separation of two secondary fragments (V = 10 km/h) and the energy of the fragment separation (E = 8.7 × 1015 erg) were estimated. A luminescence cometary continuum of 26% of the total continuum level is detected in the spectra of the comet at 5000 Å. Possible mechanisms of nucleus splitting are discussed.  相似文献

We present a preliminary analysis of medium resolution optical spectra of comet C/2000 WM1 (LINEAR) obtained on 22 November 2001. Theemission lines of the molecules C2, C3, CN, NH2,H2O+ and presumably CO (Asundi and triplet bands) and C2 -were identified in these spectra. By analysing the brightnessdistributions of the C2, C3, CN emission lines along theslit of the spectrograph we determined some physical parameters of theseneutrals, such as their lifetimes and expansion velocities inthe coma. The Franck–Condon factors for the CO Asundi bands and C2 - bands were calculated using a Morse potential model.  相似文献

We report on the preliminary analysis of the high-resolution spectrum of CometC/2000 WM1 (LINEAR), obtained on Dec. 1, 2001 with the Fiber fed ExtendedRange Optical Spectrograph (FEROS) installed on the 1.52-m telescope of ESO(Chile). Many emission lines of the molecules C2, C3, CN, CH, CH+,NH2, CO, CO+, H2O+ and, presumably, C2 - were identifiedin the spectral range 400–900 nm. Also, near-infrared photometry was performed on Dec. 2 and 3, with the infraredcamera (CamIV) attached to the 0.60-m Boller and Chivens telescope of the Picodos Dias Observatory (LNA/MCT), Brazil. We report the preliminary and comparativeanalysis of the I-J and J-H color indices.  相似文献

Light curves of six comets, C/1999 S4 (LINEAR), C/2001 Q4 (NEAT), C/2002 T7 (LINEAR), C/2002 V1 (NEAT), C/2004 Q2 (Machholz), and 153P/2002 C1 (Ikeya-Zhang), were built and investigated. The photometric parameters H 0, H 10, and n were calculated for these comets, and they were found to change both before and after perihelion. The shift of light curve peak with respect to perihelion passage moment was determined for each comet. Our white-light curves are compared to the results of polarimetric and electrophotometric observations of the comets C/2002 T7 (LINEAR) and C/2004 Q2 (Machholz).  相似文献

Between July 1996 and April 1997, 92 spectra of comet Hale-Bopp were obtained with the 6-meter BTA telescope of the SAO of the RAS at Mount Pastukhov. The spectra are two-dimensional, which allows one to determine the energy distribution for each emission along the slit and the energy distribution in wavelength for each individual position in the slit. From the 92 two-dimensional spectra covering the inner coma, detailed spectral maps of the total near-nuclear region of the comet are available for July 10, 11 and 12, 1996 and April 15, 1997. We propose an hypothesis about an unknown cometary species near λ = 620 nm in the spectrum obtained July 10, 1996. We also find an effect which may be caused by fluorescence of cometary dust. The light curves of the periodic comet 9P/Tempel 1 obtained during its apparitions in 1972, 1983, 1994, and 2005 have been constructed and studied. The values of the photometric parameters H 0, n, and H 10 have been determined for these apparitions; and secular variations of the comet’s brightness have been studied. The light curve of the comet obtained close to the moment of the artificial impact agrees well with the change in the production rate of water molecules. The presented results are important from the point of the possible change in the photometric parameters induced by the artificial impact and the long-term evolution of the cometary core activity.  相似文献

We present the results of narrowband photoelectric observations of comet Hale-Bopp near perihelion, which were made with the AZT-14telescope at the station Lisniki of Kyiv University Astronomical Observatory. The standard set of IHW cometary filters was used. The total number of cometary observations was more than 500 during the interval March 13–April 29, 1997. The comet's nuclear gas production rates Q of C2 and C3 were calculated using the stellar calibration for these filters. The calculations used the Haser model for a neutral cometary atmosphere. The value Afρ, which is characteristic of the dust production rate, was determined too. Mean values of the production rates near perihelion are log Q(C2) = 28.4; log Q(C3) = 27.2; (Afρ)BC = 6.0.
