The statistical structure of dangerous fogs with the visibility of less than 50 m is studied using the observation data of
50 meteorological stations in Georgia for the period of 1961–2006. The contribution of dangerous fogs to the total number
of foggy days is estimated. The number of days with dangerous fogs and their duration in different regions of the country
are determined and the empirical functions of their distribution, sizes of areas of their expansion, temperature regime, and
peculiarities of annual variations are studied. 相似文献

In the present study, the character of slip regimes under weak external periodical (tangential and normal) mechanical forcing
has been investigated in a laboratory spring-slider system. We report the experimental evidence of phase synchronization in
a slip dynamics, induced by the external periodic mechanical impact. At certain conditions, we have a stick-slip effect in
the spring-slider system. To describe this effect, we can use rate-and state-dependent friction law.
In our experiments, the slip events are distinguished by acoustic emission bursts, which are generated by slider displacement.
In addition to drag, the weak variable mechanical forcing was superimposed either tangential or normal to the slip plane.
With increasing external forcing one can see increasing phase synchronization of the first arrivals (onsets) of stick-slip
generated acoustic pulses. The grouping of the onsets in a certain phase of the external periodic forcing is considered as
a hallmark of the phase synchronization. The onsets of stick-slip pulses in the case of normal mechanical forcing are shifted
relative to onsets in the case of tangential forcing. 相似文献

On the observation data of 30 meteorological stations in Georgia during 1961–2008, occurrence frequency and dynamics are studied
of the most hazardous light frosts registered during the freeze-free period. Occurrence frequency of minimum temperature during
light frosts is studied along with the light frost areas. Dynamics of light frost occurrence frequency in the 20th century
is considered. 相似文献

The Earthquake Model of Middle East (EMME) Project aimed to develop regional scale seismic hazard and risk models uniformly throughout a region extending from the Eastern Mediterranean in the west to the Himalayas in the east and from the Gulf of Oman in the south to the Greater Caucasus in the North; a region which has been continuously devastated by large earthquakes throughout the history. The 2014 Seismic Hazard Model of Middle East (EMME-SHM14) was developed with the contribution of several institutions from ten countries. The present paper summarizes the efforts towards building a homogeneous seismic hazard model of the region and highlights some of the main results of this model. An important aim of the project was to transparently communicate the data and methods used and to obtain reproducible results. By doing so, the use of the model and results will be accessible by a wide community, further support the mitigation of seismic risks in the region and facilitate future improvements to the seismic hazard model. To this end all data, results and methods used are made available through the web-portal of the European Facilities for Earthquake Hazard and Risk (www.efehr.org). 相似文献

The statistical structure of hurricane winds is studied using the data of observation at 50 meteorological stations in Georgia for the period of 1961–2008. Determined are the number of days and the duration of hurricane winds in different regions of the country. Studied are the empirical functions of their distribution and the areal limits. 相似文献

The peculiarities of wire icing in mountain areas of Georgia are investigated using the observational data of 14 meteorological stations of Georgia. Determined are the maximum frequency and the maximum mass of glaze-ice deposits, as well as the frequency of deposits of different mass and thickness. Considered are the effects of orography and meteorological conditions on the wire icing processes. 相似文献
