Dragline is highly capital intensive equipment to procure, operate and maintain in any surface mining operation. Given this, every second of operation of this capital intensive equipment is absolutely important. Improvement of even a single second in the total cycle time has a tremendous bearing on the overall performance of this equipment. In this light, the present paper is an endeavour to critically analyze the cycle time of dragline operations in a major surface coal mine in India. Rigorous statistical analysis has been performed on individual cycle time segments, of complete dragline cycle. The segmental cycle times have been found to be statistically significant and appear to be best represented by lognormal, normal and beta distributions. Furthermore, the mean time of the statistical distribution for segmental cycle time of dragline has revealed the dependence of cycle time on cut geometry and depth. Results have been illustrated in the form of figures, graphs and tables.  相似文献

Atmospheric dust is considered to be the major cause of poor air quality due to its contribution to high particulate levels, but their interaction with the acidic gases helps in controlling the level of SO2 and NO2 through ambient neutralization reactions. In the present study, the interaction of acidic gases such as SO2 and NO2 with alkaline dust was investigated during October, 2013–July, 2014 at a site named as Babarpur located at the Trans-Yamuna region of Delhi. The concentration of SO2 ranged from 10 to 170 μg/m3 with an average of 36 μg/m3 while that of NO2 ranged from 15 to 54 μg/m3 with an average of 26?±?8 μg/m3. The results were observed to be well within the National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) limits prescribed by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The average concentrations of SO2 during day and night time were recorded as 31?±?18 and 43?±?53 μg/m3 respectively while the mean concentrations of NO2 during day and night time were recorded as 26?±?7 and 27?±?12 μg/m3 respectively. A positive correlation between SO42? and NO3? was also observed indicating their secondary aerosol formation. In aerosol phase, average concentrations of SO42? during day and night time were 3.9?±?0.3 and 6.5?±?2.3 μg/m3 respectively while that of NO3? were 9.5?±?1.5 and 7.3?±?0.5 μg/m3 respectively. Molar ratios of Ca2+/SO42?, NH4+/SO42?, and NH4+/NO3? were observed as 8, 5, and 1.7 during daytime and 1.5, 0.4, and 0.8 during nighttime respectively. Such molar ratios confirmed high concentrations of sulphate (SO4)2? and low concentrations of nitrate (NO3?) during night time, thereby indicating different pathway of aerosol formation during day and night time. Surface morphology and elemental composition of aerosol samples showed various oval, globular, and platy shapes where the diameter varied from few nm to ~5 μm depending on their precursors. There were certain shapes like grossularite, irregular aggregate, grape-like, triangular, and flattened which indicate the crustal origin of aerosols and their possible role in SO2 and NO2 adsorption.  相似文献

We consider the calculation of the electrical field quantities, electric potential and the vertical component of the total volume density of electric current, in a horizontally layered, piecewise homogeneous and arbitrarily anisotropic earth due to a system of direct current point sources. By applying Fourier transformation with respect to the horizontal space coordinates to the static field equations, the field quantities are obtained as the solutions of the system of transform-domain differential equations in the vertical (depth) coordinates. A recurrence scheme has been given to compute the tranform-domain field quantities at any depth. The corresponding space-domain quantities are then obtained by inverse Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT). A complete computer program has been developed for computing the electric potentials at any depth of the layered earth, which is composed of an arbitrary number of anisotropic layers with arbitrary conductivity tensors. By considering the point sources at different depths from the surface, equipotential contours on the surface of arbitrarily anisotropic layered earth models are given.  相似文献

Three basic tectonic units, the Eurasian continent, the Rigid Boundary Zone and the Indian continent, are recognized. The Rigid Boundary Zone is identified with aseismic lineaments on an epicenter map of the Himalayas and their vicinity. The origin of the Himalayan syntaxes, their re-entrant character, and the observation that most of the Himalayas are made up of rocks belonging geologically to the Indian peninsular shield, are explained by deformation of the Indian continent within this Rigid Boundary Zone since the continental collision. The focal mechanism solutions of six earthquakes in the Indian Peninsula support the inference derived from the model that the high stresses generated by the continental collision may be very extensive spatially, and that the entire Indian Peninsula may be under a state of left lateral shear along NNE vertical planes.  相似文献

Feature tracking of orthorectified pairs of Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer satellite images is used to calculate velocities for the Tasman Glacier, New Zealand (2002–2014) and the Khumbu Glacier, Nepal (2001–2008). Velocities in the middle and upper ablation zones of both glaciers show a long‐term decrease of ~10–20%, while the terminus of Khumbu Glacier has remained near stagnation throughout the study period. In contrast, there has been a recent acceleration of the lower terminus of Tasman Glacier, from ~5 m a–1 in 2002 to 40 m a–1 in 2014. Both of these glaciers have an extensive supraglacial debris cover across their lower ablation regions, with the Khumbu Glacier terminating on land and the Tasman Glacier terminating in a proglacial lake. The rapid recent increase in velocity of the terminus of Tasman Glacier is closely correlated with the increase in size of its proglacial lake. These results indicate the complex dynamic changes that mountain valley glaciers may undergo in response to long‐term negative mass balance.  相似文献

A computationally efficient fast maximum-likelihood (FML) estimation scheme, which makes use of the shape of the surface of the compressed likelihood function (CLF), is proposed. The scheme uses only multiple one-dimensional searches oriented along appropriate ridges on the surface of the CLF. Simulations indicate that the performances of the proposed estimators match those of the corresponding maximum-likelihood estimators with very high probability. The approach is demonstrated by applying it to two different problems. The first problem involves the estimation of time of arrival and Doppler compression of a wideband hyperbolic frequency modulated (HFM) active sonar signal buried in reverberation. The second problem deals with estimating the frequencies of sinusoids. A threshold analysis of the proposed scheme is carried out to predict the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at which large estimation errors begin to occur, i.e., the threshold SNR, and its computational complexity is discussed  相似文献

This paper investigates a novel jet-propulsion method for a submerged vehicle. The approach is based on flexible-tube, eccentric rotor, Downingtown-Huber type pumps. Equations of motion are derived for a craft driven by such pumps. In order to develop general insight into the overall dynamics of the system, simulations are carried out for the simple case of horizontal straight-line motion. Results are obtained for the vehicle velocity, distance traveled, pump speed, and energy consumption. Effect of drag forces on the operation of the craft is studied. Finally, the jet-propulsion system is compared with conventional screw-type propulsors via simulation.  相似文献

The experimental results of time average velocity components measured around circular pier models during transient scour stage using acoustic Doppler velocimeter are shown for flow pattern and turbulence characteristics. Totally, four experiments were performed under clear water scour conditions in a model of gravel bed stream. Four circular pier models of diameter 6.6, 8.4, 11.5, and 13.5?cm were used for this study. Detailed controlled measurements on velocity components, and turbulence intensities near the pier and in scour hole at 0° and 180° plane are shown. Flow structure around a pier model in the presence of a scoured region was compared with the flow structure similarly noticed around all pier model runs by utilizing the observations taken at 0° and 180° plane from flow axis. Size of the primary vortex at 0° plane with largest diameter pier model in place (R4 run) is found to be maximum and was approximately 61% larger than that for smallest diameter pier model in place (R1 run). The time-averaged velocity components of turbulence intensities plots at 0° and 180° planes are also presented around each pier.  相似文献

Minimal time ship routing is studied between Mumbai port (India) to Mombasa port (Kenya) using model hindcast wave climate over the Arabian Sea. With the launch of IRS-P4 (OCEANSAT-I), it became possible now to carry out routine wave hindcasting over the Indian Ocean. The MSMR channel of the satellite gives scalar wind, which is analyzed at NCMRWF, India, for converting to vector winds. The same is used as input to third-generation spectral wave model WAM for regional grid system for simulating the rough weather period of July 2000. This simulated wave climate formed the basis for computing effective ship velocity in the irregular seaway. This study gives a quantitative estimation of change in ship velocity in the open Indian Ocean for a bulk carrier. The minimal time path is charted using Dijkstra's algorithm for optimum route voyage. The optimum track information has broad scope for obtaining a safer route, least time route by avoiding delay in schedule with minimum fuel consumption.  相似文献
