Remote sensing data products need to meet stringent geodetic and geometric accuracy specifications irrespective of intended user applications. Georeferencing is the basic processing step towards achieving this goal. Having known the imaging geometry and mechanism, the mathematical models built with the use of orbit and attitude information of the spacecraft can correct the remote sensing data for its geometric degradations only up to system level accuracy (IRS-P6 DP Team, 2000). The uncertainties in the orbit and attitude information will not allow the geometric correction model to generate products of accuracy that can meet user requirements unless Ground Control Points (GCP) are used as reference geo-location landmarks. IRS-P6 data processing team has been entrusted with developing a software system to generate data products that will have desired geodetic and geometric accuracies with known limitations. The intended software system is called the Value Added Data Products System (VADS). Precision corrected, Template Registered, Merged and Ortho Rectified products are the value added products planned with VADS.  相似文献

Panchromatic data of pixel resolution 5.8 m obtained from IRS-1C and IRS-1D satellites proved to be very useful for mapping purposes. One of the popular data product is the 70 km swath mosaic which is covered by a combination of 3 CCD line sensors, each with 4096 pixels. Each CCD-line sensor with different imaging times causes geometric problems of mosaicing three strips data together. In this paper, we propose the details of the design elements of system that caters to the need for accurate and automatic multi strip image registration without any second resampling of the data. The systematic geometric correction grid mapping is improved to facilitate accurate mosaicing by automatic image registration task that makes use of the overlap data within image strips and image registration is achieved up to sub-pixel level.  相似文献

Diversity within distinct trophic groups is proposed to increase ecosystem functions such as the productivity of this group and the efficiency of resource use. This proposition has mainly been tested with plant communities, consumer assemblages, and multitrophic microbial assemblages. Very few studies tested how this diversity–productivity relationship varies under different environmental regimes such as disturbances. Coastal benthic assemblages are strongly affected by temporal instability of abiotic conditions. Therefore, we manipulated benthic ciliate species richness in three laboratory experiments with three diversity levels each and analyzed biomass production over time in the presence or absence of a single application of a disturbance (ultraviolet-B [UVB] radiation). In two out of three experiments, a clear positive relationship between diversity and productivity was found, and also the remaining experiment showed a small but nonsignificant effect of diversity. Disturbance significantly reduced the total ciliate biomass, but did not alter the relation between species richness and biomass production. Significant overyielding (i.e., higher production at high diversity) was observed, and additive partitioning indicated that this was caused by niche complementarity between ciliate species. Species-specific contribution to the total biomass varied idiosyncratically with species richness, disturbance, and composition of the community. We thus present evidence for a significant effect of consumer diversity on consumer biomass in a coastal ciliate assemblage, which remained consistent at different disturbance regimes.  相似文献

The key mineralogical features of the Newania carbonatites, that illustrate their derivation from primary mantle melts (Gruau et al. Terra Nova, Abstract Suppl 1:336, 1995; Viladkar Petrology 6(3):272–283, 1998; Basu and Murty Abstracts of Goldschmidt Conference A40, 2006), are the presence of magnesite, graphite and Cr-rich magnetite. Magnesite is an early crystallizing phase. Cr-rich magnetite and graphite coexist with carbonatite minerals and precipitated from carbonate magma. Graphite, as well as gaseous CO2 and carbonate minerals such as dolomite and magnesite, can be stable in peridotite mantle. Coexistence of these minerals is controlled by fO 2 and PT-conditions. Mineral geothermometers for the Newania carbonatite give temperatures from 463 to 950°C. The parental source for Newania carbonatites was characterized by a relatively high log (fHF/fH2O) level which increased during the crystallization history of Newania. The estimated oxygen fugacity (for ilmenite–magnetite pairs) varies from ?1.5 to +3.5 (log-bar unit deviation from FMQ buffer), which is supported by the presence of Fe-columbite, and the composition of phlogopite, amphibole and pyroxene that have an elevated concentration of Fe3+. However, the oxygen fugacity range represented by co-existing early-crystallized graphite and magnesite is below that of the FMQ buffer and lies on the CCO buffer.  相似文献

The Asteroid 21 Lutetia is the target of a flyby by the Rosetta spacecraft in mid-2010. We observed Lutetia with the Keck adaptive-optics system, and searched for satellites. We find none, to a flux limit of 1/350 (Δ-mag = 6.4), corresponding to a size limit of roughly 6 km, at a separation of 0.15″ (3 primary radii or 0.006 Hill radii).  相似文献

An automatic image registration approach is presented here can be used to register daily images of Indian geostationary satellite system INSAT-3D acquired every 30 min’ interval without use of any ground control points (GCPs). There is always a pressing need to register meteorological images that are acquired over earth from geostationary platforms every 15–30 min, covering almost one-third of the earth. Weather forecast activities include derivation of atmospheric motion vectors, which demand immediate processing of such images to a reasonable accuracy in terms of its relative location accuracy. Generally followed approaches make use of image navigation models and GCPs drawn from known landmarks in land ocean boundaries and correlate image features before estimating a transform to warp the current acquisition to a known geometry. However, the hierarchical (coarse to fine) approach explained here makes use of intensity based Mutual Information as a similarity measure from a population of pixels selected randomly and uses stochastic gradient descent optimizer to estimate an affine transform between registering image pair, delivers satisfactory results.  相似文献

RESOURCESAT-1 satellite was launched in October of 2003. Since then it has been consistently providing high quality 5 m monochromatic and multispectral images of same resolution. LISS-4 MX sensor has complex acquisition geometry. It operates in three spectral bands imaged by 3 CCD arrays, which are separated by a finite time in imaging along the satellite track direction. Individual band data is acquired at different times while the satellite is driven by a pre-determined yaw profile. In addition, the odd–even pixels are too shifted by a small fixed delay in time. A unique challenge in LISS-4 MX Level-2 data processing sub-system is to autonomously rectify and additionally co-register the three bands data because of the influence of orbit and attitude in the time gap in the imaging sequence. In this paper, authors bring out details of in-flight calibration arrived for LISS-4 MX sensor. It addresses parameterization of co-registration problem by doing sensitivity analysis of the geometric model parameters to achieve co-registration among all bands. This approach can also be used for other sensor system having similar imaging geometry to achieve improved image co-registration among bands.  相似文献

Knowing the shapes and spin states of near-Earth asteroids is essential to understanding their dynamical evolution because of the Yarkovsky and YORP effects. Delay-Doppler radar imaging is the most powerful ground-based technique for imaging near-Earth asteroids and can obtain spatial resolution of <10 m, but frequently produces ambiguous pole direction solutions. A radar echo from an asteroid consists of a pattern of speckles caused by the interference of reflections from different parts of the surface. It is possible to determine an asteroid’s pole direction by tracking the motion of the radar speckle pattern. Speckle tracking can potentially measure the poles of at least several radar targets each year, rapidly increasing the available sample of NEA pole directions. We observed the near-Earth asteroid 2008 EV5 with the Arecibo planetary radar and the Very Long Baseline Array in December 2008. By tracking the speckles moving from the Pie Town to Los Alamos VLBA stations, we have shown that EV5 rotates retrograde. This is the first speckle detection of a near-Earth asteroid.  相似文献
