Dissolution rates of sediments obtained from the Oued Cherf reservoir were measured in closed-system batch reactors at 25 °C in fluids sampled concurrently from the same locations as the sediments. The BET surface areas of the sediments ranged from 16 to 45 m2/g and consisted primarily of quartz, calcite, and clay minerals. After a brief initial period, release rates of Si, Mg, Ca, Cl, SO4, and NO3 from these sediments are approximately linear with time over the course of the experiments, which lasted from 3 to 5 months. BET surface area normalized Si release rates ranged from 10–17.4 to 10–18.4 mol/cm2/s. These release rates match closely Si release rates from quartz and clay minerals determined from laboratory dissolution rates reported in the literature. This coherence suggests that laboratory measured silicate dissolution rates can be used with confidence to predict the dissolution behavior of sediments in natural surface waters.  相似文献

RÉSUMÉ

L’Algérie, depuis longtemps, souffre d’une pénurie des ressources en eau. La stratégie de l’état algérien consiste à augmenter les stocks d’eau en adoptant plusieurs solutions, parmi lesquelles, il y a la construction des barrages et des retenues d’eau. Mais cette solution est confrontée aux conditions météorologiques qui favorisent les pertes par évaporation, surtout dans les régions arides. Ce travail consiste à présenter les premiers essais algériens sur la préservation des plans d’eau, et augmenter ses stocks par la réduction de l’évaporation, en utilisant des substances chimiques à longue chaîne, capable de former une pellicule à l’interface air/eau, appelée « film mono-moléculaire ».Les résultats obtenus ont permis d’enregistrer des taux de réduction de l’évaporation significatifs. Ces taux varient en fonction de la substance utilisée, la durée entre deux applications de la substance et des conditions météorologiques de la région d’étude.  相似文献

Estimation of reference evapotranspiration (ET0) is needed to support irrigation design and scheduling, and watershed hydrology studies. There are many available methods to estimate evapotranspiration from a water surface, comprising both direct and indirect methods. In the first part of this study, the generalized regression neural networks model (GRNN) and radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) are developed and compared in order to estimate the reference ET0 for the first time in Algeria. Various daily climatic data, that is, daily mean relative humidity, sunshine duration, maximum, minimum and mean air temperature, and wind speed from Dar El Beida, Algiers, Algeria, are used as inputs to the GRNN and RBFNN models to estimate the ET0 obtained using the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith equation (PM56). The performances of the models are evaluated using root mean square errors (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), Willmott index of agreement (d) and correlation coefficient (CC) statistics. In the second part of the study, the empirical Hargreaves-Samani (HG) and Priestley-Taylor (PT) equations are also considered for the comparison. Based on the comparisons, the GRNN was found to perform better than the RBFNN, Priestley-Taylor and Hargreaves-Samani models. The RBFNN model is ranked as the second best model.  相似文献

To simulate the behavior of radionuclides along a salinity gradient, in vitro sorption and desorption kinetics of Co, Mn, Cs, Fe, Ag, Zn and Cd were studied in Loire river water and the macrotidal Loire estuarine water over two different seasons. Partitioning between the dissolved phase and suspended solids were followed up over 100 h after adding radioactive tracers to freshly collected freshwater (sorption stage); this stage was followed by desorption in fresh and estuarine waters. A kinetic model describing the interactions between trace metals and particles under a salinity gradient was developed and calibrated. Among parameters and/or processes that control the fate and behavior of contaminated particles during their transfer in estuarine systems, this study shows that the speciation of trace metals is controlled by: (i) the chemical water composition: for all the elements except for Fe, desorption increased with salinity; however, the amplitude of such an effect strongly depended on the element and/or on the composition of the particulate phase (and consequently on the season); (ii) the possibility for a given element to form (or not) stable surface particle moieties such as oxides or inner-sphere complexes; (iii) the distribution of a given element among different types of sites characterised by different binding forces that can lead (or not) to re-adsorption processes after mixing of contaminated particles with uncontaminated water.Our model enabled the quantification of the contribution and the characteristic time of reactions that took place over short and long periods on the global partitioning between particulate and dissolved phases during sorption and desorption and to determine the extent to which these reactions were modified by the salinity.  相似文献

The study area is located in the western Hoggar Shield (southern Algeria). It includes the In Ouzzal terrane, which consists of Archaean metamorphic rocks. By contrast to other rocks of the Hoggar Shield, the In Ouzzal terrane represents an exception of being neither deformed nor metamorphosed during the Pan-African event, remaining as a rigid block since 2 Ga. Although, previous geophysical works in the area include an airborne magnetometer and gamma-ray spectrometric survey as well as ground gravity and magnetotelluric survey structurally, the study area has not been very well understood. In this paper, we present the interpretation results of the airborne magnetic data by using the 3D Euler deconvolution and the improved Tilt-angle methods. These results reveal the existing of fault systems (FS) occurring within the center of the study area and along the latitude of 22°; the results also suggested that the deepest fault system is oriented NE–SW and is represented by parallel major faults splitting the In Ouzzal terrane into two different parts: northern and southern. The northern part moved northwards, whereas the southern part moved southwards colliding with the Iforas unit. The interpretation confirms that the In Ouzzal terrane and the surrounding Pan-African structures are bound two by two sub-vertical lithospheric faults with the existence of dextral and sinistral faults in the west and east of the terrane, respectively.  相似文献

The Wadi Mina Watershed, western area of Algeria is characterized by rare and irregular rains and a fragile and weak vegetable cover. The sediments resulting from erosion are transported and contributed to silting dam Sidi Mhamed Benaouda. The combination of the thematical maps of the various erosive factors according to the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) in SIG by ArcGIS 10.2 software provided a reliable forecast of the annual rates of soil loss by delimiting the areas prone to erosive risk in the catchment above mentioned. The estimated potential average annual soil loss is 11.2 t/ha/yr., and the potential erosion rates from recognized erosion classes ranged from 0.0 to plus 100 t/ha/yr. About 50% of the catchment area was predicted to have very low to low erosion risk, with soil loss between 0 and 7.4 t/ha/yr. Erosion risk is moderate over 13.9% of the catchment, where calculated soil loss is between 7.4 and 12 t/ha/yr. Erosion risk is high to dangerous over 36.1% of the catchment, where calculated soil loss is more than 12 t/ha/yr. According to this study, it appeared clearly that we must intervene quickly by using reliable and effective conservation techniques.  相似文献
