Relation of the Wave-Propagation Metric Tensor to the Curvatures of the Slowness and Ray-Velocity Surfaces

The contravariant components of the wave-propagation metric tensor equal half the second-order partial derivatives of the selected eigenvalue of the Christoffel matrix with respect to the slowness-vector components. The relations of the wave-propagation metric tensor to the curvature matrix and Gaussian curvature of the slowness surface and to the curvature matrix and Gaussian curvature of the ray-velocity surface are demonstrated with the help of ray-centred coordinates.     

南极格罗夫山陨石的研究与展望

本文综述了我国第 1 5次 ( 1 998/ 1 999)、1 6次 ( 1 999/ 2 0 0 0 )南极科学考察队在东南极格罗夫山冰区回收的 32块陨石的岩石矿物学特征及其分类。这些陨石包括 :2 3块平衡型普通球粒陨石、6块非平衡型普通球粒陨石、1块二辉橄榄岩质火星陨石、1块钙长辉长无球粒陨石、1块未分群的铁陨石。文中还对南极格罗山冰区的陨石富集机制、GRV 980 0 4 (H5 )球粒陨石异常低的宇宙射线暴露年龄、火星陨石的溅射年龄等进行了初步的讨论 ,并对今后格罗夫山陨石的研究提出一些初步想法。     

不同浓度Li2SO4水溶液结构的X射线衍射研究

用θ～ 2θ型粉末衍射仪反射法精确测量了不同浓度的Li2 SO4水溶液的衍射数据 ,通过数据处理给出了溶液的结构函数和径向分布函数 ,由几何结构模型的最小二乘法精修 ,得到了溶液中阳离子和阴离子第一、二水合层的结构参数。     

Fermat's principle for seismic rays in elastic media

We prove that rays in linearly elastic anisotropic nonuniform media obey Fermat's principle of stationary traveltime. First, we formulate the concept of rays, which emerges from the Hamilton equations. Then, we show that these rays are solutions of the variational problem stated by Fermat's principle. This proof is valid for all rays except the ones associated with infection points on the phase-slowness surface.
