The observations with Swift X-ray telescope (XRT) challenge the conventional gamma-ray burst model in many aspects. The XRT light curves are generally composed of four consecutive segments, i.e., a steep decay segment, a shallow decay segment, a normal decay segment, a jet-like steep decay segment, and sometimes erratic flares as well. The phys-ical origin of the X-ray emission is highly debatable. We focus here on the physical origin of the X-ray emissions of GRBs 050318 and 060124. We present the XRT light curves and spectra of the two bursts. The light curve decay slopes of the two bursts are normal, and their relations to the spectral indices are consistent with the prediction of the standard forward shock model. The multi-wavelength light curves at 0.5keV, 1.0keV, 2.0keV and 4.0keV can be reproduced by this model with an isotropic kinetic energy Ek = 2.2×1052 erg, e = 0.04, B = 0.01 for GRB 050318 and Ek = 4.2×1053 erg, e = 0.05, B = 0.01 for GRB 060124. These facts suggest that the normal decay phases of the X-rays for the two bursts are of the forward shock origin. 相似文献

We are investigating the COBE DMR data at instances of known -ray bursts (GRBs) when any of the six DMR horn directions was coincident with the direction of a burst. The BATSE instrument on board GRO has detected 207 bursts during the eight-month period of overlap corresponding to the current release of COBE data. The odds of a GRB occurring within the DMR field of view are near one coincidence per year. Here we report on one such serendipitous observation in 1991, GRB 911226, for which a detailed analysis is currently in progress. 相似文献

Some models of gamma-ray bursts suggest that their spectrum may extend into the energy range above 10 GeV, i.e. above energies accessible with CGRO. Data taken with the HEGRA extensive air shower array are used to search for very high energetic gamma-ray burst counterparts above 1 TeV. The Cambridge Low Frequency Synthesis Telescope (CLFST) is being used to search for prompt radio emission from GRBs at 151 MHz. For this search a special observing mode has recently been developed; the antennas of the CLFST are split into seven groups which are spaced about 30° apart. When triggered by the real-time signals from the BACODINE system the antennas are slewed to the GRB position, with data being sampled at 1.5 or 3-s intervals. The antennas slew at about 10° per minute, so that an appreciable fraction of the sky can be accessed on timescales of a few minutes - any prompt radio emission from a GRB might be delayed by this timescale due to propagation effects. 相似文献

We describe a method to address the burster origin problem by determining their distance scale. We show that this can be easily carried out at soft X-ray wavelengths by measuring the effective column densities of a representative sample of burst spectra.
