Manganese minerals in the polymetallic nodules from the Central Pacific Ocean were studied using electron microscopy. The principal Mn minerals, being vernadite and todorokite, exhibit different electron diffraction patterns and morphological features. According to its morphological feature, todorokite shows three phases: fibrous, lamellar and lath-shaped. Both vernadite and todorokite are authigenic minerals. While vernadite was mainly precipitated directly from the relevant solution by microbiological oxidation, todorokite was separated from the solution chemically without the help of microbe. 利用两颗伴飞的Swarm A/C卫星搭载的双频GPS接收机获取的TEC数据,在两个卫星轨道平面同时对顶部电离层电子密度进行层析成像,实现对顶部电离层电子密度的三维观测.为了能够重现扰动期间电离层电子密度的空间变化特征,在正则化求解过程中,我们引入了水平矩阵H和垂直矩阵V刻画电子密度的空间变化特征,引入整体约束矩阵C以调节不同空间对电子密度相对变化的权重.数值验证结果表明我们的算法对常见的观测误差具有较强的包容性,反演计算出的电子密度平均偏差优于10%.在不同地磁活动条件下,与第三方观测数据的对比,验证了本文反演算法的可靠性.实测数据反演结果表明我们的算法不仅能够较好地重现顶部电离层子午向百公里级别的不规则结构,还能有效分辨纬向相隔~150 km的两个卫星轨道平面的电子密度差异. 相似文献

We analyzed the spectrum of a coronal condensation observed during the total eclipse of 1983 June 11. Under the assumption of rotational symmetry we found the distributions of the electron density and the temperature. The electron density was higher in the centre of the condensation than on the edge. From different line pairs the maximum electron density was found to be between 1.7 3.5×109cm−3 while the temperature was found to be basically uniform at 1.7 2.7×106K. The turbulence velocity was 15 35km/s. The systematic flow of the condensation region with respect to the quiet corona was not more than 15km/s. Discussion of the instrumental profile showed that its effect was small on lines that were much wider than the profile. 相似文献

Individual aerosol particles collected in the Negev desert in Israel during a summer and winter campaign in 1996–1997 were analysed by scanning electron microscopy with energy-dispersive X-ray analysis. Hierarchical cluster analysis was performed to interpret the data on the basis of particle diameter and composition. Eleven particle classes (groups) provided clues on sources and/or particle formation. The summer samples were enriched in sulphates and mineral dusts; the winter samples contained more sea salts, aged sea salts, and industrial particles. The fine size fraction below 1 m diameter was enriched in secondary particles and showed evidence of atmospheric processing. The secondary sulphate particles were mainly attributed to long-range transport. A regional conversion from calcite to calcium sulphate occurred during summer. Industrial particles originating from local pollution appeared during winter. 相似文献

An olivine grain from a peridotite nodule 9206 (Udachnaya kimberlite, Siberia) was investigated by TEM methods including
AEM, HRTEM, SAED and EELS techniques. A previous study of the 9206 olivine sample revealed OH absorption bands in the IR spectrum
and abundant nanometer-sized OH-bearing inclusions, of hexagonal-like or lamellar shape. Inclusions, which are several hundred
nm in size, consist of 10 ? phase, talc and serpentine (chrysotile and lizardite). The lamellar (LI) and hexagon-like small
inclusions of several ten nm in size (SI) are the topic of the present paper. AEM investigations of the inclusions reveal
Mg, Fe and Si as cations only. The Mg/Si and Fe/Si atomic ratios are lower in the inclusions than in the host olivine. The
Si concentration in the olivine host and both lamellar inclusions and small inclusions is the same. A pre-peak at 528eV was
observed in EEL spectra of LI and SI, which is attributed to OH− or Fe3+. From these data it is concluded that there is a OH−- or Fe3+-bearing cation-deficient olivine-like phase present.
HRTEM lattice fringe images of LI and SI exhibit modulated band-like contrasts, which are superimposed onto the olivine lattice.
Diffraction patterns (Fourier-transforms) of the HREM images as well as SAED patterns show that the band-like contrasts in
HRTEM images of the inclusions are caused by periodic modulations of the olivine lattice. Three kinds of superperiodicity
in the olivine structure such as 2a, 3a and 3c, were observed in SAED patterns. The corresponding olivine supercells labelled
here as Hy-2a, Hy-3a and Hy-3c were derived. The M1-vacancies located in the (100) and (001) octahedral layers of the olivine
lattice are suggested to form ordered arrays of planar defects (PD), which cause the band-like contrasts in HRTEM patterns
as well as the superperiodicity in the SAED patterns.
The vacancy concentrations as well as the chemical composition of Hy-2a, Hy-3a and Hy-3c olivine supercells were calculated
using crystal chemical approaches, assuming either {(OH)<
O−V"
Me−(OH)<
O}↔, or {F
e
<
Fe
−H
Me
′}↔ or {2F
e
<
Fe
−V
Me
"}↔ point defect associates. The calculated theoretical compositions Mg1.615Fe+2
0.135v0.25SiO4H0.5 (Hy-2a) and Mg1.54Fe2+
0.12v0.33SiO4H0.66 (Hy-3a and Hy-3c) are in a good agreement with the AEM data on inclusions. Hy-2a, Hy-3a and Hy-3c are considered to be a
hydrous olivine with the extended chemical formula (Mg1-yFe2+
y)2−xvxSiO4H2x. The crystal structure of hydrous olivine is proposed to be a modular olivine structure with Mg-vacant modules. The crystal
chemical formula of hydrous olivines in terms of a modular structure can be written as [MgSiO4H2] · 3[Mg1.82Fe0.18SiO4] for Hy-2a, [MgSiO4H2] · 2[Mg1.82Fe0.18SiO4] for Hy-3a and Hy-3c.
Hydrous olivine is suggested to be exsolved from the olivine 9206, which has been initially saturated by OH-bearing point
defects. The olivine 9206 hydration as well as the following exsolution of hydrous olivine inclusions is suggested to occur
at high pressure-high temperature conditions of the upper mantle.

Ambient atmospheric aerosols and savanna fireparticulate emission samples from southern Africa werecharacterised in terms of particle classes and theirnumber abundance by electron probe X-ray microanalysis(EPXMA). About ten particle classes were identifiedfor each sample. The major classes werealuminosilicates and sea salts for ambient coarse(2–10 m equivalent aerodynamic diameter (EAD))samples, and K-S and S-only particles for ambient fine(<2 m EAD) samples. The K-S particles are oneof the major products of biomass burning. The EPXMAresults were found to be consistent with the resultsfrom bulk analyses on a sample by sample basis. Forsavanna fire fine samples, quantitative EPXMA revealedthat many particles had a composition of simple saltssuch as KCl. Some particles had a deviatingcomposition in the sense that more ionic species wereinvolved in sustaining the balance between cations andanions, and they were composite or mixed salts.Because of extensive processing during the atmospherictransport, the composition of the K-S particles in theambient samples was different from K2SO4,and such particles were enriched with S. The finepyrogenic KCl particles and the fine sea-saltparticles were much depleted in chlorine. 相似文献
