In the semi‐arid region of the Loess Plateau in China, a portable photosynthesis system (Li‐6400) and a portable steady porometer (Li‐1600) were used to study the quantitative relation between the soil water content (SWC) and trees' physiological parameters including net photosynthesis rate (Pn), carboxylation efficiency (CE), transpiration rate (Tr), water use efficiency of leaf (WUEL), stomatic conductivity (Gs), stomatal resistance (Rs), intercellular CO2 (Ci), and stomatal limitation (Ls). These are criteria for grading and evaluating soil water productivity and availability in forests of Black Locust (Robinia pseudoacacia) and Oriental Arborvitae (Platycladus orientalis). The results indicated: To the photosynthesis of Locust and Arborvitae, the SWC of less than 4.5 and 4.0% (relative water content (RWC) 21.5 and 19.0%) belong to “non‐productivity and non‐efficiency water”; the SWC of 4.5–10.0% (RWC 21.5–47.5%) and 4.0–8.5% (RWC 19.0–40.5%) belong to “low productivity and low efficiency water”; the SWC of 10.0–13.5% (RWC 47.5–64.0%) and 8.5–11.0% (RWC 40.5–52.0%) belong to “middle productivity and high efficiency water”; the SWC of 13.5–17.0% (RWC 64.0–81.0%) and 11.0–16.0% (RWC 52.0–76.0%) belong to “high productivity and middle efficiency water”; the SWC of 17.0–19.0% (RWC 81.0–90.5%) and 16.0–19.0% (RWC 76.0–90.5%) belong to “middle productivity and low efficiency water”; the SWC of more than 19.0% (RWC 90.5%) belongs to “low productivity and low efficiency water”. The SWC of about 13.5 and 11.0% (RWC 64.0 and 52.0%) are called “high productivity and high efficiency water”, which provides the further evidence for Locust and Arborvitae to get both higher productivity (Pn and CE) and the highest WUEL and adaptation to the local environment, respectively. 相似文献

In this study, a semi‐micro procedure for the COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) was undertaken to allow the measurement of effluent samples with a high chloride content. It was found that the COD values for standard and effluent samples, corresponded closely to those obtained using the standard method of Burns and Marshall. When the method was applied to samples of industrial wastewater, with a very high chloride content, the recommended procedure proved to be accurate and precise, with RSDs of 6% and 4.3% for the standard and effluent solutions, respectively. The required amount of hazardous reagents was similar to that found in the standard closed reflux method. It was also possible to determine the total amount of oxidized halides. The use of this low‐cost, laboratory‐made system made it unnecessary to acquire an expensive, imported analytical system, while maintaining a high level of accuracy in the determinations. 相似文献

Abstract The need for rapid access to large amounts of data is one of the central problems in the field of geographical information systems. This paper describes the use of a hardware solution to this problem, in the particular case of selecting digitized boundary data from a very large file. The hardware is International Computers'(ICL's) award winning Contents Addressable Filestore (CAFS) which is a special unit fitted to ICL disc drives allowing the fast selection of records from large files. By reformatting the boundary data, it was possible to perform searches using CAFS. A command-driven package was written to allow users to select the boundaries for any named zone or zones, display them on a graphics terminal and write them out in a format suitable for input to the GIMMS package. This package was tested on a file containing the boundaries of all the wards of Great Britain. After reformatting, this file was 6 Mbytes in size, but by means of CAFS could be searched interactively with response times of the order of 5-10 seconds. 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare a number of state-of-the-art methods in airborne laser scanning (ALS) remote sensing with regards to their capacity to describe tree size inequality and other indicators related to forest structure. The indicators chosen were based on the analysis of the Lorenz curve: Gini coefficient (GC), Lorenz asymmetry (LA), the proportions of basal area (BALM) and stem density (NSLM) stocked above the mean quadratic diameter. Each method belonged to one of these estimation strategies: (A) estimating indicators directly; (B) estimating the whole Lorenz curve; or (C) estimating a complete tree list. Across these strategies, the most popular statistical methods for area-based approach (ABA) were used: regression, random forest (RF), and nearest neighbour imputation. The latter included distance metrics based on either RF (NN–RF) or most similar neighbour (MSN). In the case of tree list estimation, methods based on individual tree detection (ITD) and semi-ITD, both combined with MSN imputation, were also studied. The most accurate method was direct estimation by best subset regression, which obtained the lowest cross-validated coefficients of variation of their root mean squared error CV(RMSE) for most indicators: GC (16.80%), LA (8.76%), BALM (8.80%) and NSLM (14.60%). Similar figures [CV(RMSE) 16.09%, 10.49%, 10.93% and 14.07%, respectively] were obtained by MSN imputation of tree lists by ABA, a method that also showed a number of additional advantages, such as better distributing the residual variance along the predictive range. In light of our results, ITD approaches may be clearly inferior to ABA with regards to describing the structural properties related to tree size inequality in forested areas. 相似文献

Hydroelastic analysis of fully nonlinear water waves with the floating elastic plate is a hard mission. Especially, the behavior of the wave would be more complex when water wave encounter the floating elastic plate. In this paper, the meshless numerical method is devoted to solve such a problem. Fundamental solution method is applied to approximate the velocity potential in the fluid domain. When the water wave encounters the plate, the wave function would not be enough smooth in the edge of plate compared to the other points. Hence, to analyze numerically the behavior of wave, the solution space should include the basis functions that are not enough smooth in the edge of plate. Moreover, to decrease computational cost significantly, the basis functions had better to have local compact support. The multiple knot B-spline basis functions are suitable that contain both properties. The number of repeated knots, the degree of B-spline and the spatial points are challengeable that are discussed in this paper. The results are in good agreement with those obtained from other numerical works. 相似文献
