The results of long-term observations are used to analyze the seasonal and year-to-year variations of the abundance and biomass of planktonic algae in connection with the seasonal dynamics of water level in the Kuibyshev Reservoir. The dynamics of level regime in the reservoir in combination with climate conditions are a determining factor for phytoplankton development. The adverse effects of eutrophication (in particular, water blooming) can be reduced by maintaining an optimal water level in the reservoir—not below the normal water level (53 m BS) in the summer. 相似文献

The article discusses the results of the interpretation of magnetotelluric sounding (MTS) data generated in the vicinity of
the Mutnov steam hydrothermal deposit during the period from 2004 to 2006. Approaches to an interpretation of magnetotelluric
(MT) data in a situation characterized by significant 3D distortions and the coastal effect phenomenon are discussed. The
resulting 3D geoelectric model is presented. Based on analysis of the created geoelectric model, the principal geoelectric
horizons are characterized, which includes the parameters of the integral conductivity and the morphology of the geoelectric
boundaries. Zones of the highest values of the electrical conductivity of the watered tuffaceous sediment horizon have been
identified, as well as zones of the maximum lateral electrical conductivity contrasts that are interpreted as discharge zones

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the statistical distributions of recurrence times of earthquakes. Recurrence times are the time intervals between successive earthquakes at a specified location on a specified fault. Although a number of statistical distributions have been proposed for recurrence times, we argue in favor of the Weibull distribution. The Weibull distribution is the only distribution that has a scale-invariant hazard function. We consider three sets of characteristic earthquakes on the San Andreas fault: (1) The Parkfield earthquakes, (2) the sequence of earthquakes identified by paleoseismic studies at the Wrightwood site, and (3) an example of a sequence of micro-repeating earthquakes at a site near San Juan Bautista. In each case we make a comparison with the applicable Weibull distribution. The number of earthquakes in each of these sequences is too small to make definitive conclusions. To overcome this difficulty we consider a sequence of earthquakes obtained from a one million year “Virtual California” simulation of San Andreas earthquakes. Very good agreement with a Weibull distribution is found. We also obtain recurrence statistics for two other model studies. The first is a modified forest-fire model and the second is a slider-block model. In both cases good agreements with Weibull distributions are obtained. Our conclusion is that the Weibull distribution is the preferred distribution for estimating the risk of future earthquakes on the San Andreas fault and elsewhere. 相似文献

The fall of the Annama meteorite occurred early morning (local time) on April 19, 2014 on the Kola Peninsula (Russia). Based on mineralogy and physical properties, Annama is a typical H chondrite. It has a high Ar‐Ar age of 4.4 Ga. Its cosmic ray exposure history is atypical as it is not part of the large group of H chondrites with a prominent 7–8 Ma peak in the exposure age histograms. Instead, its exposure age is within uncertainty of a smaller peak at 30 ± 4 Ma. The results from short‐lived radionuclides are compatible with an atmospheric pre‐entry radius of 30–40 cm. However, based on noble gas and cosmogenic radionuclide data, Annama must have been part of a larger body (radius >65 cm) for a large part of its cosmic ray exposure history. The 10Be concentration indicates a recent (3–5 Ma) breakup which may be responsible for the Annama parent body size reduction to 30–35 cm pre‐entry radius. 相似文献

Condensate objects observed in the lunar regolith are distinctly separated on the basis of morpho-logical and chemical characteristics
into droplets condensed during the expansion of an impact-generated vapor cloud and films condensed on the relatively cold
surface of mineral particles. Using the analyses of both condensate forms and experimental data on the evaporation of melt
corresponding to a typical lunar highland rock of the gabbro-anorthosite composition from Apollo 16 sample 68415.40, the temperature
conditions of vapor condensation during lunar impact events were estimated. The comparison of condensate compositions with
the analyses of vapors from the evaporation experiment showed that, compared with the compositions of droplet-type condensates,
the condensate rims were formed from a vapor with high contents of refractory CaO and Al2O3 and at very different condensation temperatures. The enrichment of vapor in CaO and Al2O3 could be attained only at high temperatures of melt evaporation (higher than ∼ 1850°C according to experimental data). The
estimated condensation temperatures of droplets are significantly lower, ∼1750–1500°C. Rim-type condensates were produced
by vapor quenching on the relatively cold surface of a solid mineral particle, which resulted in almost complete precipitation

We study the 'minimal' cooling scenario of superfluid neutron stars with nucleon cores, where the direct Urca process is forbidden and enhanced cooling is produced by neutrino emission due to the Cooper pairing of neutrons. Extending our recent previous work, we include the effects of surface accreted envelopes of light elements. We employ the phenomenological density-dependent critical temperatures T cp (ρ) and T cnt (ρ) of singlet-state proton and triplet-state neutron pairing in a stellar core, as well as the critical temperature T cns (ρ) of singlet-state neutron pairing in a stellar crust. We show that the presence of accreted envelopes simplifies the interpretation of observations of thermal radiation from isolated neutron stars in the scenario of our recent previous work and widens the class of models for nucleon superfluidity in neutron star interiors consistent with the observations. 相似文献

The internal properties of the neutron star crust can be probed by observing the epoch of thermal relaxation. After the supernova explosion, powerful neutrino emission quickly cools the stellar core, while the crust stays hot. The cooling wave then propagates through the crust, as a result of its finite thermal conductivity. When the cooling wave reaches the surface (age 10–100 yr) , the effective temperature drops sharply from 250 eV to 30 or 100 eV, depending on the cooling model. The crust relaxation time is sensitive to the (poorly known) microscopic properties of matter of subnuclear density, such as the heat capacity, thermal conductivity, and superfluidity of free neutrons. We calculate the cooling models with the new values of the electron thermal conductivity in the inner crust, based on a realistic treatment of the shapes of atomic nuclei. Superfluid effects may shorten the relaxation time by a factor of 4. The comparison of theoretical cooling curves with observations provides a potentially powerful method of studying the properties of the neutron superfluid and highly unusual atomic nuclei in the inner crust. 相似文献

In this paper we consider the results of geological interpretation of 3DV (Tommot–Skovorodino segment) and Tynda–Amurzet geophysical transects crosscutting the Aldan Shield and the Stanovoi Granite–Greenstone Domain of the Siberian Platform; the Selengino–Stanovoi, Mongolia–Okhotsk, and Gobi–Hinggang foldbelts; and the Argun and Mamyn microcontinents with a total extent of sections of about 1000 km and depth of about 40 km. The data of previous studies and follow-up electric conductivity information have been used. The data of geological mapping, subject studies, and insights into the deep-seated structure of the considered territory obtained with a complex of geophysical methods are discussed. It is shown that Mesozoic strike-slip and thrust faults play the leading role in the present-day structure of the territory and in control rifting and mantle diapirism. It is suggested that Californian-type metamorphic nuclei, which are of structure-forming significance for adjacent territories in the west, have also developed in the studied region. 相似文献
