本文基于白令海北部陆坡ARC6-B11岩心的沉积物粒度、颜色反射率、有机碳/氮含量和高分辨率化学元素XRF扫描数据,结合底栖和浮游有孔虫AMS14C测年资料,重建了研究区23 ka以来至中全新世的沉积记录,重点研究了海冰的扩张变化对生产力和沉积物输入的影响。研究结果显示,末次盛冰期白令海北部陆坡受到海冰南向扩张的影响而生产力较低,沉积物中砂粒级和冰筏碎屑(IRD)含量较高。HS 1时期由于受到常年冰的覆盖,沉积物中砂粒级和IRD含量存在低值,沉积物中较高的总有机碳(TOC)含量受陆源有机质的影响较大,异常的TOC含量峰值主要受到低海平面和海冰形成过程产生的富氧水团控制下的高浓度细粒物质携带的陆源有机质的快速沉积作用的影响,难以作为反映白令海古生产力的替代指标。B/A暖期和全新世生产力较高,在B/A暖期存在Ca/Ti峰值现象,Ca/Ti峰值现象的产生与碳酸盐补偿深度增加有关,水体通风条件的改变可能起到一定的作用,也不能忽视颗石藻对其产生的潜在影响。  相似文献

Reconstructing ice‐lake histories is of considerable importance for understanding deglacial meltwater budgets and the role of meltwater reservoirs for sea‐level rise in response to climate warming. We used the latest data on chronology and ice‐sheet extents combined with an isostatically adjusted digital elevation model to reconstruct the development of proglacial lakes in the area of the Karelian ice stream complex of the Late Weichselian Scandinavian Ice Sheet on the East European Plain. We derived the deglacial ice lake development in seven time‐slices from 19 to 13.8 ka, assuming the individual ice‐marginal positions to be isochronous throughout the studied domain. Modelling is based on mapping of critical drainage thresholds and filling the depressions that are potentially able to hold meltwater. Such an approach underestimates the real dimensions of the ice lakes, because the role of erosion at the thresholds is not considered. Our modelling approach is sensitive to the (local) ice‐margin location. Our results prove the southward drainage of meltwater during the glacier extent maxima and at the beginning of deglaciation whereas rerouting to the west had taken place already around 17.5 ka, which is some 1.5 ka earlier than hitherto supposed. The total ice‐lake volume in the study area was lowest (~300 km3) during the maximum glacier extent and highest (~2000 km3) during the highstand of the Privalday Lake at c. 14.6 ka. At 14.6–14.4 ka, the Privalday Lake drained to the early Baltic Ice Lake. The released ~1500 km3 of water approximately corresponds to 20% of the early Baltic Ice Lake water volume and therefore it is unlikely that it was accommodated there. Thus, we argue that the additional meltwater drained through the Öresund threshold area between the early Baltic Ice Lake and the sea, becoming a part of the Scandinavian Ice Sheet's contribution to the Meltwater Pulse 1A event.  相似文献

Detrital zircons from the Ob, Yenisey, Lena, Amur, Volga, Dnieper, Don and Pechora rivers have been analyzed for U-Th-Pb, O and Lu-Hf isotopes to constrain the growth rate of the preserved continental crust in Greater Russia. Four major periods of zircon crystallization, 0.1-0.55, 0.95-1.3, 1.45-2.0 and 2.5-2.9 Ga, were resolved from a compilation of 1366 zircon U/Pb ages. The Archean zircons have δ18O values lying between 4.53‰ and 7.33‰, whereas Proterozoic and Phanerozoic zircons have a larger range of δ18O values in each of the recognized U/Pb time intervals with maximum δ18O values up to 12‰. We interpret the zircons with δ18O between 4.5‰ and 6.5‰ to have been derived from a magmatic precursor that contains little or no sedimentary component. The variable δ18O values of the zircons were used to constrain the 176Lu/177Hf ratios of the crustal source region of the zircons, which, in turn, were used to calculate Hf model ages (TDMV). The crustal incubation time, the time difference between primitive crust formation (dated by TDMV) and crustal melting (dated by zircon U/Pb age), varies between 300 to 1000 Myr for the majority of analyzed zircon grains, but can be up to 2500 Myr. The average TDMV Hf model age weighted by the fraction of zircons in the river load is 2.12 Ga, which is in reasonable agreement with the area-weighted average of 2.25 Ga. The TDMV Hf model age crustal growth curve for zircons with mantle-like δ18O values (4.5-6.5‰), weighted by area, shows that growth of the Great Russian continental crust started at 4.2 Ga, and that there are two principal periods of crustal growth, 3.6-3.3 Ga and 0.8-0.6 Ga, which are separated by an interval of low but more or less continuous growth. An alternative interpretation, in which the average 176Lu/177Hf ratio (0.0115) of the continental crust is used for the Paleoproterozoic zircons from the Lena River, lowers the average TDMV age of these grains by about 500 Myr and delays the onset of significant crustal growth to 3.5 Ga.The two principal growth periods recognized in Greater Russia differ from those identified from the Gondwana and the Mississippi river basin, which show peaks at 1.7-1.9 and 2.9-3.1 Ga (Hawkesworth and Kemp, 2006a) and 1.6-2.2 and 2.9-3.4 Ga (Wang et al., 2009), respectively. The older 3.6-3.3 Ga or 3.5-3.3 Ga peak for Greater Russia is slightly older than the older Gondwana-Mississippi peaks, whereas the younger 0.8-0.6 Ga peak is distinctly younger than the youngest peak in either Gondwana or the Mississippi river basin. This suggests that the two major peaks of crustal growth identified in Gondwana and the Mississippi river basin may not be global periods of enhanced continental growth and that the major periods of crustal growth may differ from continent to continent.  相似文献

Integrated studies were performed on bottom sediments collected in the Chukchi Sea in the northern part of the Gerald Canyon 150 km northeast from Wrangel Island. The recent sedimentation rate amounted to 0.9 mm/year by 210Pb at the sampling site. The concentrations of biogenic components (SiO2bio, Сorg, Ntot, and Br) were minimum at the lower part of the core, where an increase of Thalassiosira antarctica antarctica, probably results from low biological productivity during the Maunder Minimum. The increased concentrations of biogenic components, as well as the decreased values of magnetic susceptibility and X-ray density, in the upper part of the core (1–2 cm) correspond to the last decade of recent of global warming.  相似文献

The determination of clay content in near‐surface formations is crucial for geotechnical, hydrogeological and oil‐contamination studies. We have developed a technique for estimating clay content that consists of the minimization of the difference between the theoretically calculated and measured soil resistivities as a function of water salinity. To calculate the resistivity, we used a model that takes into account the electrochemical processes in the clay micropores. The experimental measurements of soil resistivity were performed on soil samples, completely saturated by brines at different concentrations of NaCl salt in the range 0.6–100 g/l, to obtain the resistivity versus salinity curve. The parameters obtained with this curve inversion are the clay content, the total porosity and the cation exchange capacity. To verify the new technique, we determined clay concentrations of artificial mixtures of calibrated sand and clay. The relative mean error in the clay content does not exceed 20% for a 5% fitting error of the resistivity versus salinity curves. Such evaluations allow the correct separation of the main lithological groups (sand, sandy loam, loam, and light, medium and heavy clay). We applied this technique to estimate the petrophysical parameters of soils (clay content, porosity and cation exchange capacity) at various sites in Mexico. The results improved the interpretation of the vertical electrical soundings, the lithological soil characterization and the delineation of oil‐contaminated areas.  相似文献

Marine sediment cores from the Chukchi Plateau are used to demonstrate the efficiency of digital photographic determination of sediment color and lightness, supplemented with the statistically processed data on sediment composition, for lithostratigraphy and paleoreconstructions. Several clusters were established that correspond to brown and gray sediment layers, carbonate-rich beige interlayers and specific segments of unclear lamination and/or lens-like intercalation of brownish and grayish beds. Correlation of the studied cores with other sediment cores from the region with well-established stratigraphy revealed good correspondence (though with certain specific features) to the conventional model of the Late Pleistocene–Holocene sediment accumulation in the offshore Arctic Ocean beyond shelf areas with clearly defined glacial–interglacial cyclicity. It was shown that enhanced red-color component corresponds to the enrichment of the interglacial brown sediment layers with manganese and accompanying elements. Glacial gray layers with enhanced green-color component are enriched in iron, as well as rubidium, vanadium, titanium and yttrium and bear evidence for considerable diagenetic transformations. Blue-color component is related to the high calcium content (carbonate rock fragments) in the carbonate-rich interlayers accumulated during the periods of active disintegration of continental ice sheets and iceberg-rafting of terrigenous lithic fragments. Intermediate values of the studied parameters are likely indicative of specific sedimentation environments.  相似文献

Igneous rocks with high Ta concentrations share a number of similarities such as high Ta/Nb, low Ti, LREE and Zr concentrations and granitic compositions. These features can be traced through fractionated granitic series. Formation of Ta-rich melts begins with anatexis in the presence of residual biotite, followed by magmatic crystallization of biotite and muscovite. Crystallization of biotite and muscovite increases Ta/Nb and reduces the Ti content of the melt. Titanium-bearing oxides such as rutile and titanite are enriched in Ta and have the potential to deplete Ta at early stages of fractionation. However, mica crystallization suppresses their saturation and allows Ta to increase in the melt. Saturation with respect to Ta and Nb minerals occurs at the latest stages of magmatic crystallization, and columbite can originate from recrystallization of mica.
