Three new sets of mineral and rock chemical data on basic granulites confirm the trends in compositional relationships, with respect to magnesium and iron, among hornblende, orthopyroxene and calcic pyroxene advanced by Sen (1970) and Ray and Sen (1970). Analysing the interrelationships among magnesium-iron distribution coefficients between hornblende-orthopyroxene and hornblende-calcic pyroxene, tetrahedral aluminium contents of hornblendes, and temperature of equilibration, it can be shown that equilibrium temperatures are higher with the Mg/(Mg+Fe) ratios of hornblendes increasing. An application of these relations to ferromagnesian phases of some garnet-bearing basic granulites points to formation of garnets in response to decreasing temperature.  相似文献

Summary The telluric field anomalies over a faulted basement are computed along profiles, perpendicular to the strike of the fault planes. Schwarz-Christoffel transformations, numerical method of solving non-linear differential equations and graphical crossplotting are used to obtain the solution of the boundary value problem. Computed anomaly curves reveal that (i) quantitative estimation regarding the width of the structure and throw of the faulting can be made from the telluric and its horizontal derivative maximal by graphical crossplotting, (ii) degree of resolution decreases with the increasing depth of the structure, (iii) the effects of a faulted basement (rectangular ridge) and those of a folded basement (triangularrridge) (Roy andNaidu [2]) are similar to a considerable extent.  相似文献

Metamorphic pelitic assemblages, containing andalusite, garnet and staurolite, occur in the pre-Cambrian Delhi System of rocks in North-Eastern Rajasthan, India. Some of these assemblages have been studied petrographically and chemically in a selected area around Bairawas. It is suggested that metamorphism has been achieved in the area under conditions of relatively low pressure and high temperature. The assemblages do not strictly correspond to any known trend of regional metamorphism and can be best described as a type intermediate between Barrovian- and Abukuma-types. The possible paragenetic history of the mineral assemblages and the trend of metamorphism have been discussed.
Zusammenfassung Metamorphe pelitische Serien, die Andalusit, Granat und Staurolith enthalten, kommen im präkambrischen Delhi-System im nordöstlichen Rajasthan vor. Einige dieser Serien eines ausgewählten Gebietes bei Bairawas wurden petrographisch und chemisch untersucht. Es ist anzunehmen, daß Metamorphose in dem Gebiet unter relativ niedrigen Druck- und hohen Temperaturbedingungen zustande gekommen ist. Die Kriterien entsprechen keinem eindeutigen Trend der regionalen Metamorphose, sie kann am besten als ein Typ beschrieben werden, der zwischen Barrovian und Abukuma einzuordnen ist. Die mögliche paragenetische Geschichte der Mineralassoziation und der Trend der Metamorphose werden besprochen.

Résumé Dans le «Delhi System» d'âge pré-Cambrien situé au Nord-Est du Rajasthan (Inde) se trouve un assemblage métamorphique et pelitique contenant de l'andalousite, du grenat et de la staurotide. Une partie de cet assemblage a été étudié au point de vue pétrographique et chimique dans la région de Bairawas. L'auteur est d'avis que le métamorphisme s'est achevé dans la région sous des conditions relatives de haute température et de basse pression. Cet assemblage ne correspond à aucun métamorphisme régional connu, et on peut l'identifier comme intermédiare entre les types «Barrovian» et « Abukuma ». L'auteur i discuté la direction du métamorphisme ainsi que l'histoire paragénétique probable des minéraux de cet assemblage.

Manganese silicate rocks, interbanded with manganese oxide orebodies, constitute an important stratigraphic horizon in the Mansar formation of the Sausar Group of Precambrian age in India. The manganese silicate rocks of Gowari Wadhona occupy the westernmost flank of the manganese belt of the Sausar Group. These rocks are constituted of spessartite, calcium-rich rhodonite, quartz, manganoan diopside, blanfordite (manganese bearing member of diopside-acmite series), brown manganese pyroxene (manganese bearing aegirine-augite), winchite (manganese bearing richterite-tremolite), juddite (manganese bearing amphibole with richterite, tremolite, magnesioriebeckite and glaucophane molecules), tirodite (manganese bearing amphibole with richterite, cummingtonite and glaucophane molecules), manganophyllite, alurgite, piedmontite, braunite, hollandite (and other lower oxides of manganese) with minor apatite, plagioclase, calcite, dolomite and microcline. A complete mineralogical account of the manganese-bearing phases has been given in the text. It has been shown that the juxtaposition of manganese silicate rocks with dolomitic marble, regional metamorphism to almandine-amphibolite facies and assimilation of pegmatite veins cutting across the manganese formation, were responsible for the development of these manganese silicate rocks and the unusual chemical composition of some of the constituent minerals. It has been concluded that the manganese silicate rocks of Gowari Wadhona were originally laid down as sediments comprising manganese oxides admixed with clay, silica etc. and were later regionally metamorphosed to almandine-amphibolite facies. All evidences indicate that rhodochrosite was not present in the original sediment and the bulk composition of the sediments was rich in manganese. These rocks agree entirely to the detailed nomenclature of the gondites enunciated by Fermor (1909) and amplified by Roy and Mitra (1964) and Roy (1966).  相似文献
