Effects of flexibility on propulsive force acting on a heaving foil

The hybrid Cartesian/immersed boundary method is applied to simulate effects of flexibility on propulsive force acting on a heaving foil in a viscous flow. Immersed boundary nodes are distributed inside an instantaneous fluid domain. Velocity vector is reconstructed at the immersed boundary node based on an interpolation along a local normal line. Using the staggered/non-staggered grid method, the demand for pressure at boundary nodes is removed. Elastic deformation of the flexible foil is modelled based on the dynamic thin-plate mechanics. The developed code is validated through comparisons with other computations on flow fields around a flapping foil. The generation of the reverse Karman vortex street is investigated. Forces acting on heaving foils are compared for flexible and rigid cases and the increased thrust of the flexible foil is attributed to the deformed configuration near the tip. The flexibility of the heaving foil decreases vertical force and improves propulsion efficiency. The variations of force and deformation are investigated according to bending stiffness of the foil.     

Paleoenvironmental implications of the guano phosphatic cementation on Dongdao Island in the South China Sea

The phosphatic cement in the bioclastic sediment sequence on the northeastern shore of Dongdao Island in the South China Sea was studied and its paleoenvironmental implications discussed. Petrological characteristics and major, trace, REE element data unequivocally supported the notion that phosphatization was closely associated with avian guano decomposition and leaching, whereas carbon and oxygen isotope results further revealed that meteoric water were involved in these processes. AMS ¹⁴C dates on the brown phosphate cements indicate that they were formed around 5700, 5000–5100 and 2900 yr BP, respectively. The multi-episodes of phosphatization very likely correspond to intermittent seabird occupation on this island — possibly reflecting Holocene sea-level oscillation and/or long term climate changes in the South China Sea that have controlled seabird habitat. The phosphate cementation, which occurs widely in tropical islands, may be another useful monitor for sea-level and/or paleoclimate changes.     

主元分析变换空间上的鉴别共同矢量人脸识别方法

给出了在主元分析(PCA)变换空间上求取DCV投影矩阵的方法(PCA+DCV),在保留所有鉴别信息的条件下,显著降低了算法复杂度,提高了运算效率.进一步提出了依据主元成分对应特征值进行适度权重的DCV识别方法(WPCA+DCV),一定程度上减小因光照、饰物遮挡等造成的面部变化带来的识别影响,增强表征信息,提高识别率.在ORL、YALE和AR人脸库上的实验结果证实了本方法的性能.

BTEX异常对海域油气藏指示作用的研究

常规的油气化探方法一般是应用烷烃类作为油气勘探的基本指标,但是烷烃类易受人类活动和生物活动的干扰,使常规的化探技术在油气勘探中一直受到限制。人们开始考虑采用直接的生物标记化合物来预测油气藏,如芳烃系列中的苯系化合物苯(benzene)、甲苯(toluene)、乙苯(ethylbenzene)、二甲苯(xylem),简称BTEX。国内外研究表明,BTEX基本不受人类活动和生物活动的干扰,对油气藏具有良好的指示作用。依据南海某区的实测资料,采用自主研发的油气化探可视化评价软件进行数据处理,剥离背景异常,圈出有效的BTEX异常,并与靶区地层剖面进行了对比,结果证实了BTEX对海域油气藏具有良好的指示作用。     

基于微地震技术的油田裂缝监测及模拟

研制了1套以三分量MEMS检波器为核心硬件的微地震监测系统,并结合GPS系统对监测过程进行精确授时.同时编制数据化记录和处理软件,实现网络化自动监测功能;通过开发计算机判别标准和实时定位理论系统,对数据和微震源进行自动化处理和计算.利用该系统对东辛油田营11进行了6个月现场注水微震监测,对监测数据的处理表明营11注水区域裂缝发育方向基本上为NE90°-NE125°,与地应力裂缝模拟结果相符较好,两者结合给出了这个地区合理开发部署建议.
