We report new geological, mineralogical, geochemical and geochronological data about the Katugin Ta-Nb-Y-Zr (REE) deposit, which is located in the Kalar Ridge of Eastern Siberia (the southern part of the Siberian Craton). All these data support a magmatic origin of the Katugin rare-metal deposit rather than the previously proposed metasomatic fault-related origin. Our research has proved the genetic relation between ores of the Katugin deposit and granites of the Katugin complex. We have studied granites of the eastern segment of the Eastern Katugin massif, including arfvedsonite, aegirine-arfvedsonite and aegirine granites. These granites belong to the peralkaline type. They are characterized by high alkali content (up to 11.8 wt% Na2O + K2O), extremely high iron content (FeO1/(FeO1 + MgO) = 0.96–1.00), very high content of most incompatible elements – Rb, Y, Zr, Hf, Ta, Nb, Th, U, REEs (except for Eu) and F, and low concentrations of CaO, MgO, P2O5, Ba, and Sr. They demonstrate negative and CHUR-close εNd(t) values of 0.0…−1.9. We suggest that basaltic magmas of OIB type (possibly with some the crustal contamination) represent a dominant part of the granitic source. Moreover, the fluorine-enriched fluid phases could provide an additional source of the fluorine. We conclude that most of the mineralization of the Katugin ore deposit occurred during the magmatic stage of the alkaline granitic source melt. The results of detailed mineralogical studies suggest three major types of ores in the Katugin deposit: Zr mineralization, Ta-Nb-REE mineralization and aluminum fluoride mineralization. Most of the ore minerals crystallized from the silicate melt during the magmatic stage. The accessory cryolites in granites crystallized from the magmatic silicate melt enriched in fluorine. However, cryolites in large veins and lens-like bodies crystallized in the latest stage from the fluorine enriched melt. The zircons from the ores in the aegirine-arfvedsonite granite have been dated at 2055 ± 7 Ma. This age is close to the previously published 2066 ± 6 Ma zircon age of the aegirine-arfvedsonite granites, suggesting that the formation of the Katugin rare-metal deposit is genetically related to the formation of peralkaline granites. We conclude that Katugin rare-metal granites are anorogenic. They can be related to a Paleoproterozoic (∼2.05 Ga) mantle plume. As there is no evidence of the 2.05 Ga mantle plume in other areas of southern Siberia, we suggest that the Katugin mineralization occurred on the distant allochtonous terrane, which has been accreted to Siberian Craton later.  相似文献

Diffusion couple experiments with wet half (up to 4.6 wt%) and dry half were carried out at 789–1,516 K and 0.47–1.42 GPa to investigate water diffusion in a peralkaline rhyolitic melt with major oxide concentrations matching Mount Changbai rhyolite. Combining data from this work and a related study, total water diffusivity in peralkaline rhyolitic melt can be expressed as:
$ D_{{{\text{H}}_{ 2} {\text{O}}_{\text{t}} }} = D_{{{\text{H}}_{ 2} {\text{O}}_{\text{m}} }} \left( {1 - \frac{0.5 - X}{{\sqrt {[4\exp (3110/T - 1.876) - 1](X - X^{2} ) + 0.25} }}} \right), $
$ {\text{with}}\;D_{{{\text{H}}_{ 2} {\text{O}}_{\text{m}} }} = \exp \left[ { - 1 2. 7 8 9- \frac{13939}{T} - 1229.6\frac{P}{T} + ( - 27.867 + \frac{60559}{T})X} \right], $
where D is in m2 s?1, T is the temperature in K, P is the pressure in GPa, and X is the mole fraction of water and calculated as = (C/18.015)/(C/18.015 + (100 ? C)/33.14), where C is water content in wt%. We recommend this equation in modeling bubble growth and volcanic eruption dynamics in peralkaline rhyolitic eruptions, such as the ~1,000-ad eruption of Mount Changbai in North East China. Water diffusivities in peralkaline and metaluminous rhyolitic melts are comparable within a factor of 2, in contrast with the 1.0–2.6 orders of magnitude difference in viscosities. The decoupling of diffusivity of neutral molecular species from melt viscosity, i.e., the deviation from the inversely proportional relationship predicted by the Stokes–Einstein equation, might be attributed to the small size of H2O molecules. With distinct viscosities but similar diffusivity, bubble growth controlled by diffusion in peralkaline and metaluminous rhyolitic melts follows similar parabolic curves. However, at low confining pressure or low water content, viscosity plays a larger role and bubble growth rate in peralkaline rhyolitic melt is much faster than that in metaluminous rhyolite.

Biotite granites and muscovite-bearing granites are dominant rock types of the widespread granites in SE China. However, their petrogenesis has been enigmatic. A combined study of zircon U–Pb dating and Lu–Hf isotopes, whole-rock element geochemistry and Sr–Nd–O isotopes was performed for three late Mesozoic granitic plutons (Xinfengjie, Jiangbei and Dabu) in central Jiangxi province, SE China. All the plutons are composed of biotite granites and muscovite-bearing granites that have been poorly investigated previously. The new data not only allow us to assess their sources and magma evolution processes, but also helps us to better understand the genetic link to the large-scale polymetallic mineralization in SE China. LA-ICP-MS zircon U–Pb dating shows that three plutons were emplaced in the Late Jurassic (159–148 Ma) and that the muscovite-bearing granites are almost contemporaneous with the biotite granites. The biotite granites have SiO2 contents of 70.3–74.4 wt% and are weakly to strongly peraluminous with ASI from 1.00 to 1.26, and show a general decrease in ASI with increasing SiO2. They have relatively high zircon saturation temperatures (T Zr = 707–817 °C, most > 745 °C) and show a general decrease in T Zr with increasing SiO2. They have high initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.7136 to 0.7166) and high δ18O values (9.1–12.8‰, most > 9.5‰) and clearly negative ε Nd (T) (? 9.5 to ? 11.8) and ε Hf (T) (in situ zircon) (? 13.1 to ? 13.5). The muscovite-bearing granites have high SiO2 contents (74.7–78.2 wt%). They are also weakly to strongly peraluminous with ASI of 1.04–1.18 but show a general increase in ASI with increasing SiO2. They have relatively low T Zr (671–764 °C, most < 745 °C) and also show a general decrease in T Zr with increasing SiO2. The muscovite-bearing granites have high Rb (up to 810 ppm) and high (K2O + Na2O)/CaO (up to 270), Rb/Sr (up to 42) and Rb/Ba (up to 30) as well as low K/Rb (< 150, down to 50), Zr/Hf (< 24, down to 11) and Nb/Ta (< 6, down to 2). They show similar Nd–O–Hf isotopic compositions to the biotite granites with ε Nd (T) of ? 8.7 to ? 12.0, δ18O of 8.7–13.0‰ (most > 9.5‰) and ε Hf (T) (in situ zircon) of ? 11.3 to ? 13.1. Geochemical data suggest the origin of the biotite granites and muscovite-bearing granites as follows: Partial melting of Precambrian metasedimentary rocks (mainly two-mica schist) in the lower crust at temperatures of ca. 820 °C generated the melts of the less felsic biotite granites. Such primary crustal melts underwent biotite-dominant fractionation crystallization, forming the felsic biotite granites. Progressive plagioclase-dominant fractionation crystallization from the evolved biotite granites produced the more felsic muscovite-bearing granites. Thus, the biotite granites belong to the S-type whereas the muscovite-bearing granites are highly fractionated S-type granites. We further suggest that during the formation of the muscovite-bearing granites the fractional crystallization was accompanied by fluid fractionation and most likely the addition of internally derived mineralizing fluids. That is why the large-scale polymetallic mineralization is closely related to the muscovite-bearing granites rather than biotite granites in SE China. This is important to further understand the source and origin of biotite granites and muscovite-bearing granites in SE China even worldwide.  相似文献

Hainan Island lies at the southern tip of the South China block that was affected by the opening and closure of the paleo-Tethys from Paleozoic to Mesozoic and subsequently by the subduction of the paleo- Pacific plate beneath the Euroasian plate since the late Mesozoic era. This study presents zircon U-Pb ages and geochemistry of granites and basic diabase veins in Dazhou Island located 5 km southeast of Hainan Island. The age for granites is 237.2 Ma (MSWD = 0.14, n = 14), suggesting that they were emplaced in the late middle Triassic and are products of magmatic-tectonic episodes during the closure of paleo-Tethys. The granites belong to the shoshonitic magmatic series and are metaluminous I-type granites. They are systematically depleted in Ba, Nb, Sr, P, and Ti, and have variable ranges of initial 87Sr/86Sr ratios (0.71005 ~ 0.71110), but relatively constant εNd(t) values (–6.4~–6.8). The two-stage depleted mantle Nd model ages (TDM2 = 1531–1562 Ma) for these granites suggest that they may have originated from partial melting of the lower crust with a crustal residence age of early Middle Proterozoic Era. The zircon U-Pb ages for diabase veins can be divided into three groups. The age for Group I is 236.8 Ma (n = 4), which represents the crystallization age of the veins and somewhat younger than the accompanying granites. The ages for Group II and III are 1767 Ma (n = 6) and 2432 Ma (n = 3), respectively. These suggest that the veins have inherited some old zircons that possibly represent old geological events in the Hainan Islands. The diabase also belongs to the shoshonitic magmatic series and has arc-like trace element characteristics. The veins have high 87Sr/86Sr and low 143Nd/144Nd ratios, which suggest that they may have originated from an enriched mantle II type source or a mantle source metasomatized by aqueous fluids released from previously subducted slab. The new ages obtained for the Dazhou igneous rocks in the present study are similar to those for the Qiongzhong batholith in the Hainan Island, which implies that the Hainan Island had also regionally experienced a middle Triassic extension event after the Indosinian Orogeny.  相似文献

The data on the distribution of elements in the Pb–Zn cross-section of the Gatsirovskaya vein (the Upper Zgid deposit, North Ossetia, Russia) have shown that the spectra of rare-earth elements (REEs) changed significantly in the ore samples during the vein formation. The sharp growth of the LaN/YbN, LaN/NdN, GdN/HoN, and GdN/YbN ratios is confined to the vein intervals, where the maximum amount of ore components is deposited. The comparison of the REE spectra of ores to the characteristics of the spectra of the rocks surrounding the vein and the host rocks suggests that the vein material deposited from the solutions in which the REE ratio changed with time. REE fractionation occurred due to the mobilization of components by hydrothermal solutions during their interaction with the Paleozoic host granites.  相似文献

Felsic magmatism in the southern part of Himachal Higher Himalaya is constituted by Neoproterozoic granite gneiss (GGn), Early Palaeozoic granitoids (EPG) and Tertiary tourmaline-bearing leucogranite (TLg). Magnetic susceptibility values (<3 ×10?3 SI), molar Al2 O 3/(CaO + Na2 O + K 2O) (≥1.1), mineral assemblage (bt–ms–pl–kf–qtz ± tur ± ap), and the presence of normative corundum relate these granitoids to peraluminous S-type, ilmenite series (reduced type) granites formed in a syncollisional tectonic setting. Plagioclase from GGn (An10–An31) and EPG (An15–An33) represents oligoclase to andesine and TLg (An2–An15) represents albite to oligoclase, whereas compositional ranges of K-feldspar are more-or-less similar (Or88 to Or95 in GGn, Or86 to Or97 in EPG and Or87 to Or94 in TLg). Biotites in GGn (Mg/Mg + Fet= 0.34–0.45), EPG (Mg/Mg + Fet= 0.27–0.47), and TLg (Mg/Mg + Fet= 0.25–0.30) are ferribiotites enriched in siderophyllite, which stabilised between FMQ and HM buffers and are characterised by dominant 3Fe\(\rightleftharpoons \)2Al, 3Mg\(\rightleftharpoons \)2Al substitutions typical of peraluminous (S-type), reducing felsic melts. Muscovite in GGn (Mg/Mg + Fet=0.58–0.66), EPG (Mg/Mg + Fet=0.31?0.59), and TLg (Mg/Mg + Fet=0.29–0.42) represent celadonite and paragonite solid solutions, and the tourmaline from EPG and TLg belongs to the schorl-elbaite series, which are characteristics of peraluminous, Li-poor, biotite-tourmaline granites. Geochemical features reveal that the GGn and EPG precursor melts were most likely derived from melting of biotite-rich metapelite and metagraywacke sources, whereas TLg melt appears to have formed from biotite-muscovite rich metapelite and metagraywacke sources. Major and trace elements modelling suggest that the GGn, EPG and TLg parental melts have experienced low degrees (~13, ~17 and ~13%, respectively) of kf–pl–bt fractionation, respectively, subsequent to partial melting. The GGn and EPG melts are the results of a pre-Himalayan, syn-collisional Pan-African felsic magmatic event, whereas the TLg is a magmatic product of Himalayan collision tectonics.  相似文献

The processes of differentiation in the magmatic chamber of the Ioko-Dovyren layered dunite-troctolite-gabbro-gabbronorite massif were simulated using the COMAGMAT-3.5 software package, which is based on the convection-accumulation model for the crystallization of magmatic intrusions. The initial magma composition was assumed to be equal to the weighted mean composition of the rocks composing the intrusion (wt %: 43.92 SiO2, 9.72 Al2O3, 10.53 FeO, 27.88 MgO, 6.99 CaO, 0.59 Na2O, 0.07 K2O, and 0.11 TiO2). The results obtained by simulating the crystallization of this composition within a pressure range of 0–10 kbar indicate that the crystallization sequence determined for the rocks Ol + ChrOl+ Pl+ ChrOl + Pl+ CPx → ± Ol + Pl+ CPx + LowCaPx in an anhydrous system takes place under pressures of 0–2 kbar. A series of simulations for a system closed with respect to oxygen yielded estimates for the phase and chemical composition of the emplaced magma and the parameters of the optimum model, which reproduces accurately enough the geochemical structure of the Ioko-Dovyren intrusion: the naturally occurring distributions of minerals and components in its vertical section. The correlation coefficients between the concentrations of oxides determined in the rocks and calculated within the model are \(r_{MgO,Al_2 O_3 ,CaO} \) ≥ 0.9 and \(r_{FeO,SiO_2 ,Na_2 O} \) ≥ 0.6. The simulated phase composition of the magma during its emplacement corresponded to melt + olivine (Fo 89). The crystallinity of the parental magma was determined to have been equal to approximately 40 vol % at an assumed cumulus density of 90% near the lower contact and 70% near the upper one. The temperature of the magma during its emplacement was close to 1340°C at a pressure of 1 kbar. In the model, plagioclase and clinopyroxene appear on the liquidus at T?1255°C at T?1210°C, respectively, and the crystallization sequence of cumulus minerals corresponds to that observed in nature. The liquid phase (melt) of the parental magma during its emplacement had the following composition (wt %): 45.95 SiO2, 15.93 Al2 O3, 14.49 MgO, 10.88 FeO, 11.46 CaO, 0.97 Na2O, 0.11 K2O, and 0.18 TiO2. Our results confirm the plausibility of the hypothesis that the inner structure of the Ioko-Dovyren intrusion was formed by the emplacement and differentiation of a single magma portion with no less than 40 vol % crystallinity.  相似文献

The chemical composition and origin of major REE minerals of aegirine, aegirine–arfvedsonite, arfvedsonite, and annite–riebeckite–arfvedsonite granites are studied for the Katugin Ta–Nb–Zr–Y deposit with cryolite in the southwestern part of the Aldan Shield. The REE mineralization of granites includes two types: (i) disseminated grains of pyrochlore and, to a lesser extent, other Nb–Ln oxides, Ln phosphates, and Ln–F carbonates in association with zircon, ilmenite, sphalerite, and other minerals and (ii) interstitial intergrowths of Ln fluorides.

Peralkaline syenite and granite dykes cut the Straumsvola nepheline syenite pluton in Western Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica. The average peralkalinity index (PI?=?molecular Al/[Na?+?K]) of the dykes is 1.20 (n?=?29) and manifests itself in the presence of the Zr silicates eudialyte, dalyite and vlasovite, and the Na–Ti silicate, narsarsukite. The dykes appear to have intruded during slow cooling of the nepheline syenite pluton, and the petrogenetic relationship of the dykes and the pluton cannot be related to closed-system processes at low pressure, given the thermal divide that exists between silica-undersaturated and oversaturated magmas. Major and trace element variations in the dykes are consistent with a combination of fractional crystallization of parental peralkaline magma of quartz trachyte composition, and internal mineral segregation prior to final solidification. The distribution of accessory minerals is consistent with late-stage crystallization of isolated melt pockets. The dykes give an Rb–Sr isochron age of 171?±?4.4 Ma, with variable initial 87Sr/86Sr ratio (0.7075?±?0.0032), and have an average ε Nd of ? 12.0. Quartz phenocrysts have δ18O values of 8.4–9.2‰, which are generally in O-isotope equilibrium with bulk rock. Differences in the δ18O values of quartz and aegirine (average Δquartz?aegirine = 3.5‰) suggest aegirine formation temperatures around 500 °C, lower than expected for a felsic magma, but consistent with poikilitic aegirine that indicates subsolidus growth. The negative ε Nd (< ? 10) and magma δ18O values averaging 8.6‰ (assuming Δquartz?magma = 0.6‰) are inconsistent with a magma produced by closed-system fractional crystallization of a mantle-derived magma. By contrast, the nepheline syenite magma had mantle-like δ18O values and much less negative ε Nd (average ??3.1, n?=?3). The country rock has similar δ18O values to the granite dykes (average 8.0‰, n?=?108); this means that models for the petrogenesis of the granites by assimilation are unfeasible, unless an unexposed high-δ18O contaminant is invoked. Instead, it is proposed that the peralkaline syenite and granite dykes formed by partial melting of alkali-metasomatised gneiss that surrounds the nepheline syenite, followed by fractional crystallization.  相似文献

The strong adaptability of Broussonetia papyrifera (L.) Vent. to low phosphorus (P) conditions can be attributed to the large amount of root-exuded organic acids and the high efficiency of P extraction. However, microelement contents are influenced by low-P stress, and their effects on the photosynthetic capability of B. papyrifera remain unknown. In this study, we investigated the effects of low-P treatment on net photosynthetic rate (P N); chlorophyll a fluorescence (ChlF) characteristics; and Fe, Mn, Cu, and Zn contents of B. papyrifera and Morus alba L. seedlings. Results show that B. papyrifera exhibited better photosynthetic capability under moderate P deficiency (0.125, 0.063, and 0.031 mmol/L P treatments), whereas the photosynthetic capability of M. alba decreased under moderate and severe P deficiency (0.016 and 0 mmol/L P treatments). Under moderate P deficiency, the decrease in Cu and Zn contents in B. papyrifera was lower than that in M. alba. Under severe P deficiency, a considerable decrease of photosynthetic capability in B. papyrifera and M. alba was associated with low Cu and Zn contents. The P N of the two Moraceae species exhibited a better correlation with Cu and Zn contents than with Fe or Mn content. P deficiency could not only decrease cyclic photophorylation and photosynthetic efficiency, but could also affect the stability of thylakoid membrane structure and electron transport efficiency by influencing the contents of Cu or Zn, thereby affecting photosynthesis.  相似文献

The crystallization of plagioclase-bearing assemblages in mantle rocks is witness of mantle exhumation at shallow depth. Previous experimental works on peridotites have found systematic compositional variations in coexisting minerals at decreasing pressure within the plagioclase stability field. In this experimental study we present new constraints on the stability of plagioclase as a function of different Na2O/CaO bulk ratios, and we present a new geobarometer for mantle rocks. Experiments have been performed in a single-stage piston cylinder at 5–10 kbar, 1050–1150?°C at nominally anhydrous conditions using seeded gels of peridotite compositions (Na2O/CaO?=?0.08–0.13; X Cr = Cr/(Cr?+?Al)?=?0.07–0.10) as starting materials. As expected, the increase of the bulk Na2O/CaO ratio extends the plagioclase stability to higher pressure; in the studied high-Na fertile lherzolite (HNa-FLZ), the plagioclase-spinel transition occurs at 1100?°C between 9 and 10 kbar; in a fertile lherzolite (FLZ) with Na2O/CaO?=?0.08, it occurs between 8 and 9 kbar at 1100?°C. This study provides, together with previous experimental results, a consistent database, covering a wide range of PT conditions (3–9 kbar, 1000–1150?°C) and variable bulk compositions to be used to define and calibrate a geobarometer for plagioclase-bearing mantle rocks. The pressure sensitive equilibrium:
$$\mathop {{\text{M}}{{\text{g}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{Si}}{{\text{O}}_{\text{4}}}^{{\text{Ol}}}}\limits_{{\text{Forsterite}}} +\mathop {{\text{CaA}}{{\text{l}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{S}}{{\text{i}}_{\text{2}}}{{\text{O}}_{\text{8}}}^{{\text{Pl}}}}\limits_{{\text{Anorthite}}~} =\mathop {{\text{CaA}}{{\text{l}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{Si}}{{\text{O}}_{\text{6}}}^{{\text{Cpx}}}}\limits_{{\text{Ca-Tschermak}}} +{\text{ }}\mathop {{\text{M}}{{\text{g}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{S}}{{\text{i}}_{\text{2}}}{{\text{O}}_{\text{6}}}^{{\text{Opx}}}}\limits_{{\text{Enstatite}}} ,$$
has been empirically calibrated by least squares regression analysis of experimental data combined with Monte Carlo simulation. The result of the fit gives the following equation:
$$P=7.2( \pm 2.9)+0.0078( \pm 0.0021)T{\text{ }}+0.0022( \pm 0.0001)T{\text{ }}\ln K,$$
$${R^2}=0.93,$$
where P is expressed in kbar and T in kelvin. K is the equilibrium constant K?=?a CaTs × a en/a an × a fo, where a CaTs, a en, a an and a fo are the activities of Ca-Tschermak in clinopyroxene, enstatite in orthopyroxene, anorthite in plagioclase and forsterite in olivine. The proposed geobarometer for plagioclase peridotites, coupled to detailed microstructural and mineral chemistry investigations, represents a valuable tool to track the exhumation of the lithospheric mantle at extensional environments.

The Al-rich region of the CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system was experimentally studied at pressures of 1.0–2.8 GPa and temperatures of 1300–1535°C. The slopes of the lines of the monovariant reactions An + Sp = Cpx + Cor + (Ga) and L = Cpx + Ga + Cor + Sp and the compositions of the phases involved in these reactions are determined. The results are utilized in the topological analysis of the aluminous region of the CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system. On this basis, the principal structure of the phase diagram is analyzed, and a phase diagram is constructed for the junction region of the quaternary system and the CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 ternary system. A continuous series of the monovariant eutectic: L = Cpx + Opx + Fo + An, L = Cpx + Opx + An + Sp, L = Cpx + (Ga) + An + Sp, L = Cpx + Cor + (Ga) + An, L = An + Ga + Cpx + Ky and L = Ga + Cpx + Ky + Qz is examined within the pressure range from atmospheric to 3.0 GPa and higher. Analogous “telescoped” eutectic series are of fundamental character for interpreting the evolution of magmatic melts. A physicochemical model is suggested for the evolution of magmatic melts that produce rocks of the calc-alkaline series, with this model underlain by the fact that a change in the composition of magmatic melt at a pressure decrease should correspond to the minimum melting temperatures, i.e., to melts in the fundamental series of eutectic reactions. The comparison of our physicochemical model and rocks of the calc-alkaline series shows that the compositions of rocks of the calc-alkaline series are close to the compositions determined for the eutectic equilibria, and the mineralogical composition of xenoliths and megacrysts in volcanic and dike varieties of the rocks are similar to the subsolidus phases of the established fundamental eutectic system.  相似文献

The Curie point depth map of Eastern Iran was constituted from spectral analysis of the aeromagnetic data. The reduction to pole (RTP) was applied to the magnetic anomaly data. The Curie point depth values from 165 overlapping blocks, 100 × 100 km in size, have been estimated. The Curie point depth method provides a relationship between the 2-D FFT power spectrum of the magnetic anomalies and the depth of magnetic sources by transforming the spatial data into the frequency domain. The centroid and top depth of the magnetic sources (respectively Z0 and Zt) is calculated from radially averaged log power spectrum for each block. Finally, the Curie point depth of Eastern Iran is obtained by Zb = 2Z0Zt. The highest value of 24 km is located in eastern and western boundaries of the Lut block, and the lowest value of 12 km is located at north of study area. The shallow depths in the Curie-point depth map are well correlated with the young volcanic areas and geothermal potential fields. Geothermal gradient ranging from 24 to 45°C/km. The deduced thermal structure in eastern Iran has a relationship with orogenic collapse associated with delamination of thickened lithospheric root between the Lut and Afghan continental blocks.  相似文献

Upper Cretaceous pelagic deposits outcropping in the Maçka (Trabzon) region include radiolarians and pelagic foraminifera. The Çatak Group represented by the volcano-sedimentary successions consists of three formations having different properties. Two sections, ÇTK1 and ÇTK2, are selected from the Çe meler and Elmalι Dere formations, respectively, establishing the biostratigraphy of outcropping sedimentary units. A total of 17 species of Whiteinella, Helvetoglobotruncana, Marginotruncana, Dicarinella, Praeglobotruncana, Archaeoglobigerina and Hedbergella demonstrating the early Turonian–Coniacian are established in the ÇTK1 stratigraphic section. The early Turonian radiolarian fauna consisting of Halesium sexangulum Pessagno, 1971, Crucella cachensis Pessagno, 1971, Stichomitra communis Squinabol, 1903 is also defined in the same section. A total of 30 species of Crucella, Halesium, Pessagnobrachia, Patulibracchium, Alievium, Archaeospongoprunum, Dicyomitra, Stichomitra, Diacanthocapsa, Dactiyliodiscus, Amphipydax, Pseudoaulophocus, Acaeniotyle, Archaeodictyomitra, Actinomma, Xitus, Neosciadocapsidae characterizing the early and late Turonian, as well as the Coniacian–early Santonian are recognized from red-coloured pelagic limestones of the ÇTK2 section. Also, planktonic foraminifera species of Marginotruncana, Hedbergella, Heterohelix, Globotruncana, Globotruncanita, Archaeoglobigerina, Dicarinella characterizing the Coniacian–Santonian are described in the thin sections of the same samples. The age of red-coloured limestones is identified as the Coniacian–Santonian benefit from radiolarians and pelagic foraminifera. Consequently, radiolarians and pelagic foraminifera within sedimentary successions of the investigation area are distributed in two intervals that coincide with the early Turonian–Coniacian and Coniacian–Santonian intervals.  相似文献

Pore solution salinity has important bearing on engineering behavior of marine sediments as they influence electrochemical stress (AR) and differential osmotic stress (?π) of the salt-enriched clays. The electrochemical stress (AR) is contributed by van der Waals (A) attraction and diffuse ion layer repulsion (R), while the differential osmotic stress (?π) is governed by the differences in dissolved salt concentrations in solutions separated by osmotic membrane. The paper examines the relative influence of differential osmotic stress (Δπ) and electrochemical stress (AR) on the consolidation behavior of slurry consolidated kaolinite specimens, which are known to be encountered in recent alluvial marine sediments. Methods are described to evaluate the magnitudes of these physico-chemical components and their incorporation in true effective stress. Results of the study demonstrate that differential osmotic stress finitely contributes to true effective stress. The contribution from differential osmotic stress enables kaolinite specimens to sustain larger void ratio during consolidation.  相似文献

Theoretical absorption-line profiles and radial-velocity curves for tidally deformed optical stars in X-ray binary systems are calculated assuming LTE. The variations in the profile shapes and radial-velocity curve of the optical star are analyzed as a function of the orbital inclination of the X-ray binary system. The dependence of the shape of the radial-velocity curve on the orbital inclination i increases with decreasing component-mass ratio q = m x /m v . The integrated line profiles and radial-velocity curves of the optical star are calculated for the Cyg X-1 binary, which are then used to estimate the orbital inclination and mass of the relativistic object: i < 43° andm x = 8.2–12.8 M. These estimates are in good agreement with earlier results of fitting the radial-velocity curve of Cyg X-1 using a simpler model (i < 45°, m x = 9.0–13.2 M).  相似文献

The stability of nonstoichiometric clinopyroxenes in the Di-CaEsk join was experimentally studied, and phase diagrams were constructed for this join at pressures of 2.0 and 3.0 GPa. It was found that melting in the diopside part of the join occurs at anomalously low temperatures, and nonstoichiometric clinopyroxene coexists with a phase approaching diopside in composition. Phase relations along the Di-CaEsk join can be described and consistently interpreted only assuming that the diopside phase (α-diopside) is thermodynamically stable. The following phase volumes were observed along the solidus of the join at a pressure of 3.0 GPa: Cpx, αDi+Cpx, αDi+Cpx+Qtz, αDi+Cpx+Grt+Qtz, Cpx+Grt+Qtz, Cpx+Grt+Ky+Qtz, Grt+Ky+Qtz. Melting occurs via the eutectic reaction αDi+Cpx+Grt+Qtz=L at a temperature of about 1200°C in the diopside part of the system and via the eutectic reaction Cpx+Grt+Ky+Qtz=L at a temperature of 1400°C in the calcium-rich part of the system. At a pressure of 2.0 GPa, melting occurs at temperatures of 1200–1300°C via the eutectic reaction αDi+Cpx+ An + Qtz=L. The invariant equilibrium (L, An, Cpx, Grt, αDi, Qtz) lies within the pressure range 2.0–3.0 GPa. Nonstoichiometric clinopyroxenes form complex solid solutions, the compositions of which are not strictly confined to the Di-CaEsk join and depend on temperature, pressure, and phase association. Grossular garnets coexist with nonstoichiometric clinopyroxenes and α-diopside.  相似文献

The rift system of the Dnieper–Donets trough (DDT) is the largest magmatic area in the East European Platform. Basalts of the Voronezh Crystalline Massif (VCM) are spatially constrained to the eastern shoulder of DDT and occur far away (at a distance of 150–200 km) from the rift axis. The rocks are hosted in the Paleoproterozoic Vorontsovskii terrane and are grouped in a few fields within an area of 200 × 100 km. Basalts at most of the fields were erupted at the boundary between mid- and late Frasnian time in the Late Devonian and can be studied exclusively in core material recovered by boreholes. Newly obtained mineralogical, geochemical, and isotopic-geochemical data show that the Devonian volcanic rocks in VCM are tholeiites (Bas) and basaltic andesites/andesites (ABas). The geological section was examined most exhaustively in the Novokhopersk area (Borehole 175). The bottom of the vertical section is made up of basaltic andesites and andesites (ABas) (thickness 34 m), which rest on an eroded surface of late Frasnian sandstones. The rocks are overlain by a thin (8 m thick) tholeiite sheet (Bas2), which gives way to ABas (13 m) upsection. The top portion of the vertical section is composed of tholeiites with petrography and geochemical evidence of crustal contamination (Bas1) (apparent thickness 5 m). Geochemical parameters of Bas (mg# 42–52 at SiO2 47–51 wt %) are typical of continental tholeiites. The rocks have (87Sr/86Sr)0 = 0.7043–0.7048 and εNd(372) = 2.1–3.5. ABas (mg# 28–31 at SiO2 52–60 wt %) are enriched in Y (48 ppm), and possess Nb/Nb* = 0.7–0.8 and high Zn/Cu = 1.9–2.3. The rocks have (87Sr/86Sr)0 = 0.7034–0.7048 and Nd–εNd(372) = 0.1. Some portions of Bas melts assimilated the upper crustal material, which was similar to Paleoproterozoic granites, and ABas are contaminated in the lower crust with derivatives of Early Cambrian alkaline mafic melts. Petrographic data and simulations of fractional crystallization show that olivine and high-Mg clinopyroxene were the first to crystallize from the melt. After this, clinopyroxene and plagioclase simultaneously crystallized at temperatures from 1070 to 1020°C in Bas and at 1040–900°C at f O2 below QFM + 1 in ABas. The source of ABas was likely a network of hornblendite or amphibole pyroxenite veins in peridotite in the lithospheric mantle or amphibolized peridotite cumulate in an underplating zone; and Bas were derived from spinel peridotites of an asthenospheric diapir. The setting of the basalts relative to the DDT axis and the asymmetric zoning of magmatism in DDT (with kimberlites and other deep rocks constrained to the western shoulder and tholeiites occurring in the axial part of the rift and its eastern shoulder) can be explained by the model of an asymmetric rift structure with a translithospheric detachment gently dipping beneath VCM.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to provide insights into the REE and Y behavior during garnet porphyroblast formation in staurolite-bearing schists as a constituent of Late Paleoproterozoic metapelites of the Ladoga Complex. The MnNCKFMASH P–T pseudosection for a single sample and Grt–Bt thermometry indicate that the garnet core grew at 520°C and under 7.0–7.2 kbar in the Grt–Bt–Pl–Chl–Ms–Zo field, whereas the garnet rim was equilibrated at 590–600°C and under 3.5–4.0 kbar. The measured zoning profiles are strongly depleted in REE + Y in the garnet core containing high Mn and Ca concentrations. The intermediate zone of garnet is enriched in La, Ce, Pr, and Nd (inner LREE + Nd annulus), as well as in Dy, Er, Yb, Lu, and Y (outer HREE + Y + Dy annulus). According to pseudosection analysis, these peaks were probably produced owing to breakdown of epidote-group minerals (allanite, REE-rich epidote) at T < 535°C and P > 6.5 kbar. Towards the rim, the HREE + Y contents gradually decrease, whereas MREE (Sm, Eu, Gd) display an inverse trend. The rim also exhibits a negative Eu anomaly. The former tendency reflects an increase in temperature during garnet crystallization and partitioning of elements between garnet and monazite. It is thought that the latter is linked to oppositely directed change in garnet-monazite partition coefficients for HREE and MREE with increasing temperature.  相似文献

The PT conditions of Early Paleozoic metamorphism in the Sangilen block of the Tuvino-Mongolian Massif (southeastern part of the Central Asian Mobile Belt) achieved a value of 910–950°C and 3–4 kbar, which corresponded to the conditions of ultrahigh temperature–low pressure (UHT/LP) metamorphism. During retrograde metamorphism, cooling down to 850°C was accompanied by compression (up to 5.5–7 kbar), and then cooling down to 580–650°C took place at nearly the same pressure (5.5–6.5 kbar). UHT metamorphism was related to the elevated heat flow from the mantle, leading also to an intensive basite magmatism. The “counter-clockwise” PT evolution was evoked by underthrusting of the hot tectonic slab (Erzin complex) beneath the colder one (Moren complex).  相似文献
